I think they must be concerned about all the deceased African-Americans who will be disenfranchised. It makes up for the times they weren't allowed to when they were alive.

Well, obviously, much of "white America" is racist, since all those who require people to present their ID are white!/sarc
Funny how very few of the people who ask me to show my ID (I'm Caucasian, by the way) are of my own race these days, especially at Hotels/Motels, airports, gas stations, etc.

you need a lic. or ID to get on a plane
I guess that explains why you never see minorities on airplanes.
Not always true. On flights between Atlanta and Washington D.C., my experience is they are the majority of the passengers.

I’ve never understood why this is has become a major liberal issue.
Liberals, among others, have done voter registration drives, to get people registered to vote, so that they can comply with the legal requirement to exercise your right to vote. Voter ID is just another legal requirement, which the liberals could help their people comply with, if they chose to do so.
Why can’t liberals do an outreach campaign to make sure people get an ID so they can vote? There are allegedly millions of older people, if you can believe them, who never had a driver’s license, and have no ID. Take these non-drivers to the office to get their ID so they can vote. Why is this an insurmountable problem, per the liberals?
I heard that some state, don’t remember which, was even waiving fees for low income, so that takes care of those who allegedly can’t afford the fee for an ID.

Don't you need some kind of ID just to register to vote?

Even a respected former president, Bill Clinton, has echoed Maxine Waters' claims. Respected by whom? Prostitutes, the Chinese Strategic Artillery Corps division, and the Lippo Group?

I hope your question(s) are rhetorical.
It’s a major issue for the libs because it would severely dampen voter fraud. Dems usually win close elections via voter fraud. Rule of thumb is (on average, it’s much worse in some cities) Dems get a 2% boost from fraud.

It's required to be a US citizen to vote, I'd think that requires ID.
Excerpt from below linked article:
Georgia discovered it had to go to court to obtain approval of a law that ensures only citizens are registered to vote. The Justice Department was objecting to the law.
Holder's DOJ backed off on fighting that when Georgia threatened to sue.
Will DOJ Shoot Down South Carolinas New Voter ID Law?

When I moved to NC from GA. I had to mail a copy of my NC drivers license to the GA board of elections to get my name removed from the GA voter rolls. I was concerned that someone would vote in my name. I’m not 100% sure about registering but I think you do have to prove who you are.
