Being a Democrat in l962 and in l980’s are two completely different things! Michelle Bachman was a Democrat until 1980 and campaigned for Carter.

I think you really need to do some research about the Democrat party in the early 20th century. The birth of many of the leading liberal institutions, programs and beliefs came into being during that time.

You have it nailed. Fools here, do not understand, the south was the solid democrat south for years and years. Why, because Lincoln was a republican. I remember when there were no republicans in office in most of the south. Carter won the south because he was a veteran the concept of liberal was not really a big deal at the time. Hell most southern democrats were anti black and the black people were 99% republican up until JFK. And now as you say a lot of the rinos are liberal compared to JFK. Dang,
