Oklahoma is too far for those Amish Youths to travel in a horse and buggy. Could have been one of then Utah Utes. Or an angry middle aged white man in a white panel van.
Herriman certainly sounds like a white guy’s name . . .
I confused by your headline. You are asking why something is not being reported while posting a UPI story about the very subject.

Where on earth did this guy find pipe caps that big, or a 12" NPT threading die?
UPI, ABC, CNN, Fox, Reuters, among others, all covered it. Perhaps the fact that it did not get more press suggests that it was not huge news. In a rare exercise of restraint the media failed to paint an angry white man as an extremist.
12” in diameter, and 12” tall? Yup, echoing what Charles Martel said, I have to wonder where he got the pipe and pipe caps that big. The purchase of that stuff by an individual would’ve made the police work very simple I’m sure.
Or, the reporter just got it wrong? After all, you can’t spell “stUPId” without “UPI”, right?
Probably because he is a far left, tree-hugging, environmental whacko, Obama supporter. Why else?
If you are assuming a 12 diameter threaded pipe, you are assuming details not actually described.
For example this could be a bundle of 1” PVC, or a dozen other things.
From another source:
Herriman told investigators he manufactured the device at his residence and that the components used to construct it were still located there, including plastic pipes, what appeared to investigators to be black powder, a propane tank and batteries and wiring, the complaint says.

He may turn out to be a garden-variety nutcase.
After Herrimans arrest, his 73-year-old father told Reuters his son had been undergoing treatment for years for mental health problems, which had worsened recently. The last time the state-run media pinned their hopes on a whack-job and tried to make him into a member of the Palin-for-President team, they got egg all over themselves. They may not want to go there this time.He said hes been hearing voices for the last couple weeks, Dan Herriman said. He was trying to get back to the V.A. (Veterans Administration hospital).
The suspect has been taking medication to treat his mental illness, Herriman said of his son.
He goes up and down.
Also, don’t forget the basic mission of the media these days: if the story doesn’t advance Obama or smear his opposition, it’s not news.
Perhaps it was 2-1/2” pipe bombs zip tied into an X.
If he was being treated in a VA hospital, it’s kind of surprising that Obama and Incompetano didn’t try to use it to re-introduce the “dangerous right-wing veterans” mantra.
I guess they were too busy vacationing.

in this case, it seems he’s not Amish.
but, converts often DON’T change their name now.
a white American i knew, wrote me from Saudi Arabia,
saying he wished he had not changed his name.
and that was several years ago.
...good benefits for men who want one of more “submissive” women, who are taught that he HUSBAND can literally keep her from going to Heaven, if she doesn’t please him enough...
IMO, you'd need one hell of a big PVC "pipe bomb" to harm a steel gas line. This, however, was most likely a hunk of (PVC) pipe 1/2" x 12". Some retarded reporter or editor removed the forward slash.

Never been around the Mazie OK area have you. Large REAL Menonite-Amish population there.
Probably not to give ideas to those idiots out there.... i.e the liberal youth.
