Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the Obama administration has a jobs program already in place — and it’s food stamps. When asked about new numbers that show one in every seven Americans now receiving food stamps from the federal government, Vilsack said that’s good news. Food stamps create jobs, Vilsack insisted, and managed to even come up with a new multiplier effect number:

These people are truly delusional. A lib-hole at the office insisted printing money is not a problem….I asked her then why not print $300,000,000,000,000 and send every man, woman and child in the US $1-million? After some incoherent sputtering, she started blaming George Bush for the debt problem. The really sad part is her vote counts as much as mine.

Food stamps create jobs, Vilsack insisted, and managed to even come up with a new multiplier effect number:

One aspect this idiot hasn't, or won't address, is it's more of a negative multiplier as an awful lot of these stamps/cards are sold at a discount - I heard 50c on the dollar - for other "necessities".

The Government help game. Needfulness is irrelevant.

Detroit News article:

http://www.detnews.com/article/20110808/POLITICS02/108080356/30-000-college-students-kicked-out-of-food-aid-program-in-Michigan

this cultural admission is illuminating:

Quote:

[ex-Detroit Mayor} Kilpatrick, who was recently released from state prison after serving time for violating probation and awaits trial on federal corruption charges, revealed he used food stamps when he attended Florida A&M University in the late 1980s and early 1990s. At the time, his mother was a state representative and his father was a top Wayne County official.

“The food stamp game is an old hook-up in neighborhoods from Detroit to Tallahassee,” Kilpatrick said in the book. “If you could get them, especially as a struggling college student, then you did.”

Unquote.

Reminds me of the breakfast and lunch programs at schools.  Despite people in this nation getting food stamps they actually kept these programs open at some schools over the summer, so kids wouldn't starve.

And of course other programs are linked to how many meals you serve.  Gotta keep those numbers up.

FFS, if people had jobs they wouldn’t need food stamps. The assertion that they create jobs is ridiculous.

There should be NO food stamps/food cards. There should be stores where those registered on the basis of their incomes as too poor to buy food in regular grocery stores would go to pick up staples to feed their families. No “frills,” just flour, eggs, milk, meat, cooking oil, vegetables, fruit, salt and pepper, and dairy products.

Of course, this would mean that there would be no taxpayer-funded food card fraud in which such cards are used to buy drugs, prostitutes, guns etc., so many of the Poor would whine about simply being provided with nutritious food that they would actually have to cook at home. This would also solve the obesity problem.
