Twelve hours removed from a controversy about his suggestion that Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke was engaging in treasonous behavior Texas Gov. Rick Perrys presidential campaign didnt try to walk back the remark. In fact, they doubled down on it.
I am passionate about the issue but I stand by what I said, Perry told reporters in Iowa today.
Although Perrys campaign is only a few days old, the episode provides a telling insight into the Texas governor: he is brash, bold and unapologetic about being so.
And that just might make him a perfect fit for the current Republican primary electorate who is mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

HA HA HA....here’s the deal and you might as well realize...AMERICANS do not care about any of that...it is all a smoke screen....bottom line for Americans are jobs, jobs, jobs, and the economy, ecomony, economy....Perry has the best record around...the rest is smoke and mirrors...
I can’t wait for Rick Perry to take a whack at the EPA and Lisa Jackson who runs the EPA. She is our #1 eco-saboteur. The EPA has been fighting with Texas for a few years on oil refinery regulation. Rick Perry had better be bearing a grudge on that.
As we say in Texas: "You can take that to the bank"! Life will become very different for what's left of the EPA under a Perry Presidency..
righteous!
Interesting tactic. A shot across the bow of Benny and the Pretenders, dont even think about playing politics now. QE3 has to go stealth. Re-write for Bennies Jackson A-hole speech on August 26
McCain had plenty of baggage and he won last time.
Being from Texas you know better than me. I’d love to see the EPA cut down to size and then some more.
Whatever...Jack Wheeler says Perry will be the next President of the USA...I’ll trust Jack Wheeler over any of these anti-Perry haters.
I'm just saying that it's stupid to think a RINO won't be the nominee, when just a few years ago the GOP primary voters chose McCain. For me, that means no messing around with quixotic, boutique candidates.
Whatever. Anyone who whips out the hater card knows they have already lost the debate. Tell us all how electable Perry is the minute he starts crawling out of single-digit territory in any state outside the old confederacy.
Well, lucky day for you! Just yesterday there was a poll showing Perry picking up 20% in Colorado; there was a Rasmussen poll showing Perry with 29% in the Republican primary race on a national level; and there was also a poll showing Perry at 47% in Ohio in a matchup against Obama. Since he just announced on Saturday, that sounds like a pretty good start.
The GOP is a ‘thing’ when discussing the RNC, the major lobbies, and the establishment talking heads.
We should all pick a RINO to line up behind because that’s all we’re going to get?
“All youze teabaggers better listen up now, and do as you’re told!”
Eerily similar to all the Rudybots, Romneybots, and McCainiacs last go-round. How well do you feel the strategy employed last time by the major power-brokers of throwing all their weight behind candidates who are completely unacceptable to about a quarter of their own party worked-out?
We all get one vote. Then they’re counted.
Anyway, who was the correct choice in 2008?
Ohioans haven’t gotten to know Perry yet. Once they peg him as an OBL front man, he’ll be lucky to match McCains numbers there.
Or else they will like what they see, and he will continue going higher in the polls. We will have to wait to see which way it goes.
