BALTIMORE, MD, August 16, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Researchers from several prominent U.S. universities will participate tomorrow in a Baltimore conference reportedly aiming to normalize pedophilia. According to the sponsoring organization’s website, the event will examine ways in which “minor-attracted persons” can be involved in a revision of the American Psychological Association (APA) classification of pedophilia.
B4U-ACT, a group of pro-pedophile activists and mental health professionals, is behind the August 17 conference, which will include panelists from Harvard University, the Johns Hopkins University, the University of Louisville, and the University of Illinois.
B4U-ACT science director Howard Kline has criticized the definition of pedophilia by the American Psychological Association, describing its treatment of “minor-attracted persons” as “inaccurate” and “misleading.”
“It is based on data from prison studies, which completely ignore the existence of those who are law-abiding,” Kline said in a July 25 press release. “The proposed new diagnostic criteria specify ages and frequencies with no scientific basis whatsoever.”
“The Diagnostic and Statistical of Mental Disorders (DSM) should meet a higher standard than that,” he added. “We can help them, because we are the people they are writing about.”
On their website B4U-ACT classifies pedophilia as simply another sexual orientation and decries the “stigma” attached to pedophilia, observing: “No one chooses to be emotionally and sexually attracted to children or adolescents. The cause is unknown; in fact, the development of attraction to adults is not understood.” The group says that it does not advocate treatment to change feelings of attraction to children or adolescents.
In their press release B4U-ACT announced a letter the group has sent to the APA criticizing its classification of the mental illness.
In an interview with LifeSiteNews (LSN), Liberty University Visiting Professor of Law Judith Reisman, an expert on sexual ethics and pornography, criticized the Baltimore conference, saying, “This has been on the agenda for decades.”
“I first met up with what I had come to call ‘The Academic Pedophile Lobby’ in 1977 at The British Psychological Society Conference on Love and
Attraction, Swansea, Wales,” she said. “I delivered a research paper on child pornography in Playboy 1954-1977.”
“Other conference academicians, some hired by pornographers, presented ‘scientific’ papers advocating the legalization of child pornography, prostitution and an end to age of consent,” she said. “They promoted their ‘scientific’ claims for early childhood sexuality to lawmakers and fellow academicians via both legitimate and pornographic media.”
“The DSM is typical of this degeneracy since they already had lightened the diagnosis of pedophilia as to make it almost meaningless, requiring that the pedophile be ‘bothered’ by his and her abuse of children and so on,” Reisman said. “We now have women and children sexually violating children as well as men. This will continue to spiral down into, well, we’d have to say the abyss of hell, unless we retrieve our laws, our mass media and our schools.”
As previously reported by LSN, similar lobbying, then by homosexual activists, led to the declassification of homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1973 in the DSM. As a result of the DSM declassification, debate regarding homosexuality and the many documented harms associated with the homosexual lifestyle has been all but shut down in academic psychological circles.
I am absolutely unsurprised by this. How long before Christianity is classified as a mental disorder?

"Minor attracted people" had better stay away from my grand kids. I'm 66 years old and Illinois doesn't have a death penalty any more. What could a life sentence be for me, 10 maybe 20 years tops. I will kill anybody who hurts any of my grands. They can use this statement as grounds for "premeditation", I don't care.

There was another ping not long ago about the attempts to normalize pedophilia, not sure if it was about this same "conference". So, here's another article, in case you missed that one. Judith Reisman is an expert in the field of how sexual deviance harms children and adults. Everything she writes is well researched and true. The normalization of pedophilia has been promoted for a long time; explicit sex-ed is one of the many methods to sexualize children younger and younger, so adults can claim that "children want it". Yes, it's revolting and horrifying, but that is exactly what they claim. SIECUS (link in next comment) is a very influential organization which has been promoting child sex for decades.
Reisman says:

We have to get our cultural standard based on moral absolutes back, or deeper into the abyss we will go.

SIECUS is also pro-pornography. On their website, they proclaim, “When sensitively used in a manner appropriate to the viewer’s age and developmental level, sexually explicit visual, printed, or on-line materials can be valuable educational or personal aids…contributing to a wholesome concept of sexuality.” They also state, “Adults should have the right of access to sexually explicit materials for personal use. Legislative and judicial efforts to prevent the production or distribution of sexually explicit materials endanger constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of speech and press and could be employed to restrict the appropriate professional use of such materials by sexuality educators, therapists, and researchers.” These are points of view that they share with your teenager at school – pornography is wonderful!

Interesting that doing a google search, it was not easy to find the truth about SIECUS. The official site and parts of it took up most of the first two pages.
I think they ought to be “normalized” at the end of a rope.
And that goes for their deviate-enabling shrinks too.
After they all arrive at the conference, take off and nuke the site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Oh please....either you're deliberately lying or horribly obtuse. The history of the 'guilty' / 'not guilty' verdicts rendered on the naughty school teacher threads were started by people outraged at the disparity between what are generally considered just sentences given to male teachers caught with their students, and what appear to be correspondingly light sentences given to female teachers with theirs. Starting around the time of Debra Lafave, it became obvious that the more attractive female teachers appeared to receive correspondingly lenient sentences.
Much of the banter on those threads is not an endorsement of pedophilia, but a skewering of the inherent bias in the justice system's handling of it.

In plain terms, my daddy taught me to do the right thing. Until the military got a hold of me, I was a shy retiring book worm that read too much. My only social life was rock climbing and training on my bicycle. My teen years were awkward to say the least. At 18 a girl of 14 developed a crush on which was surprising because everything else had already developed to epic proportions. Not used to the attentions of smokin’ hot teenage girls I developed a crush on her as well. My father saw it coming, and said to me, “You that’s gonna be a long miserable road for both of you even if her parents don’t have you arrested. You’re taking her entire body in with every glance, and I’m granting you that its a fine body to be sure but you’re not looking into those child like eyes. She thinks you hung the moon son,and she believe that about you because she sees you as a child like herself. She doesn’t see you as a man so you do. You to not only see yourself as a man, but you must see her as a child, because that’s what she is, a fully delevoped sexually precocious child
There are right and wrong son, and I know you already know what’s the right think do here. The question here is; are you going to trust your sense of right and wrong,or damn the topedoe and make her young life much more complicated than you ever should?
I listened, and decided that as attractive as she I just couldnt do., and to to this day some 30 years later, she’ss still all that and a back of chips. She tells me that she’s so thankful I rejected all of her advances and she said that she loved the boy in me that really wanted to , but the man inside that would not let him earned her respect, and says she carried it with her whole life. We need more people today who respect boundries, even it when it’s really temping to cross. them.
