>> Supporting Gore can't be defended and it makes you look silly to try. <<

Man, these Perrybots just don't get it. This story would have been old news a LONG ago if they didn't constantly come up with these "RATs were conservative in 1988" pieces of fiction. Here's yet another one oosted today:

Understanding "Rick Perry--Democrat, 1988" A Political Primer for Non-Texans

I also saw yet ANOTHER "Gore was a conservative southern Senator who was pro-life back then" repsonses. And another Perrybot is insisting that the VAST majority of people who voted for Republicans in Texas back then were Democrats (wtf? were most of the Libertarian Party votes that Ron Paul got cast by Green Party members too?)

I hate to break the news to the Perrybots, but Gore's 100% pro-abortion record in the Senate and far-left ACU rating in 1988 were proven on this forum weeks ago. The fact Texas RAT politicians had liberal records in the 1980s and there were plenty of elected Republicans holding office in Texas in 1988 is also a matter of public record. The ONLY reason this issue keeps coming up is the Perrybots chooes to IGNORE the facts presented here and make Perry look bad by posting falsehoods. Between you guys and the ardent "Chris Christie is a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage socially liberal governor" freepers, your "facts" about politicians stance on social issues now have as much crediblity as a Michael Moore documentary. If we relied on these freepers to issue pro-life scorecards, they'd probably "inform" us that "pro-abortion Rick Santorum is running for President" and trying to unseat "socially conservative Barack Obama"

Freeper Liberty Valance posted a great imitatiion of the Perrybots "informing" us non-Texans about "the way thing were in Texas" here:

You can’t blame Perry for this. The call to Islamic prayer and multiple wives was too strong for him as a kid back at the mosque in Paint Creek. Every person in town was a jihadist. And they all smoked guardasil and played crescents instead of horseshoes. It’s common knowledge here in Texas.

I think the Perrybots really need to learn from Anthony Weiner's "I was hacked" tall tales and take a hint that you need to stop digging the hole you're in. You guys keep whining "Reagan was a Democrat too!" You know why nobody cared that "Reagan was a Democrat"? Because he didn't go around spouting "FDR was a conservative in the 30s and the Hollywood Dems were to the right of Calvin Coolidge back then" fantasies like you're doing. Reagan admitted he USED to liberal who "bled for every cause" and when a reporter asked him if he shared any blame for bad government, he said "yes, because I was a Democrat back then!"

But admitting the truth is just hard for the Perry for POTUS bandwagon, I guess?

I note that lying comes entirely too easily to you Perry haters.

Yawn. Who cares that Perry supported Al Gore in 88, Michelle Bachmann supported Carter....there is another yawner...she is conservative now. Your logic is screwy. Perry has a 10 record of making actual decisions, not just talk and votes, far more than any other candidate or potential candidate. If you want to trust talk and votes go ahead, actual experience is a far better measure. Yeah, I know you think his record completely stinks to high heaven, fine, Perry supporters see it as overall conservative but with some warts. The others don't have as many warts because they don't have enough time in an executive position, they are very green in comparison

See post 31 at the link for a list of Perry's conservative points. Then, if you don't thinks its good enough, show me the record of another candidate that is better, on all the issues of concern. Oh wait, you can't, all you can do is bash Perry. Nuff said.
