EPA’s new ozone regulations overburden local governments, say critics
Daily Caller ^ | 08-18-2011 | Matthew Boyle

The Environmental Protection Agency is driving a new ozone regulatory agenda that critics say will cripple local governments, small businesses and other industries nationwide....

“The EPA has set the proposed range so low, between 60 and 70 ppb, that they’re getting very close to background levels....In addition to expected job losses, Meads said costs for meeting these new regulations would be split between local governments, small businesses and industry.

And with this EPA crew, crippling job loss is a FEATURE, not a bug.

Drives me nuts that some people (the type that doesn’t frequent FreeRepublic) can’t see that the Marxist-in-Chief and his EPA head are doing this stuff on purpose. They honestly don’t care about the overall well-being of the USA and are happy to drive the country into the ground to make it atone for what they perceive at its sins. The 2012 election is the most consequential of our lifetime. Let’s hope enough people SEE what is going on here.

No doubt about it.

I was listening to Mark Levin, and he mentioned these also.

Levin: "This administration is at WAR with the private sector in this country."

Anti-tar sand protest planned for White House [US pipeline project]

"In an op-ed column for the Washington Post, Bill McKibben, one of the rally organizers, says the protest will be in the form of a 2 week sit-in and will be the biggest display of civil disobedience in the environmental movement in decades."

Unfunded mandates achieve the Cloward=Piven goals that much quicker.

Was going to make reservations for a trip to Colorado at Christmas. Received a copy of their reservation policy: “Smokin is not permitted on the property. Any guest violating the no-smoking policy will be asked to leave without a refund for early departure. A charge for ozone treatment will be made...” So are they going to treat the entire state of Colorado or what? Just exactly what does an ozone treatment entail? Simply ridiculous.

LMAO - Bill McKibben has made his career off of apocalyptic climate change and environmental stuff. He is the textbook example of Abraham Maslow’s aphorism - “if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” Of COURSE he wants to block a pipeline that might help us tap the abundant shale oil in Canada and the US. Shale oil (and fossil fuels generally) contain icky CARBON, which might be the most dangerous element in the whole periodic table to him :)

UNREAL! Most of this country still doesn’t understand what these lunatics are doing.

Yellowstone will be in noncompliance:

The EPA has set the proposed range so low, between 60 and 70 ppb, that they’re getting very close to background levels,”

Alicia Meads, energy and resources policy director for the National Association of Manufacturers, said. “So, essentially, if the EPA sets it close to 60 ppb, areas like Yellowstone National Park are going to be in non-attainment.”

Normal ozone levels are routinely between 30-50 ppb on a clear day in most of America. Cities such as Houston can have ozone levels over 300 ppb during the summer. Most cities have atmosphere monitoring websites, particularly useful for those with allergies, that report things like ozone levels.

These evil bastards are collecting fat Federale paychecks and pensions while driving people to ruin and driving the private sector to ruin. Rick Perry will clean out this snake nest. Mitt Romney? What would he do to the EPA?
Rick Perry- Nuke the EPA and Department of Education for starters. Fire every last parasite.
BTW the Department of Education is a reparations scam. Nearly everyone who works there is black or minority. The rest are women. What non-gay guy is going to work in such a bureaucratic swamp? Lots of taxes paying for their fat Federale paychecks and they do nothing useful.
