I really like and admire George W. Bush, but he needs to put a muzzle on his yappy little poodle Karl Rove. Rove needs to STFU and stop undermining conservative candidates.

Rove needs to shut up before he costs us yet another election. And yes, how dare anyone criticize the a$$hat that caused this entire mess to begin with?! The nerve!!! *sigh*
To: Astronaut
Yup. The Bushs look down on Perry like the help. Incidentally, I read the book two years ago and saw the movie last night. The Help is worth seeing, folks. But I said a few months ago that if Perry gets in and does well, Jeb Bush may be stepping in. See my tag line.
And, for heaven’s sake, Sarah, if you going to jump in, jump in already!

Bush and his cronies need to have a steaming mug of STFU.
Pig face Karl Rove is now an automatic channel change in our house.

Karl Rove has clearly demonstrated that he is an ‘establishment’ Republican and an enemy of Republican conservatives. I’m not sure what, if anything, George W. Bush can do with Rove at this late date but Karl is rapidly distancing himself from the TEA party and by doing so, in effect, choosing sides. He is definitely on the losing side. 2012 will be no time for ‘good-old-boy’, ‘go-along-to-get-along’, politics as usual. The U.S. is in deep trouble and even the MSM can’t really hide that reality. They can only try to blame everyone but Obama and his party. That isn’t working. 2012 will be a major change in Washington. ‘Old political hands’ such as Karl Rove will be seen as the enemies of the kind of conservative, constitutional change necessary and he will be relegated to irrelevance, if he isn’t, already.

I do not admire George W. Bush, precisely because of the policy decisions that Rove was influential in having Bush make. I do not believe that Rove is the genius that he has been credited with being; rather, he is analytically dysfunctional, with a very good memory, but an inability to really understand the political trends that he seeks to appease.
For example, see A Conservative Dilemma, 2006: The Rove Directed Republican Disaster. For an even more critical look, see Rove Revisited.
Whoever the Republican nominee, next year, it is essential that they not have this albatross around their neck.

I'm not surprised if Dubya let (or even tell) his aides to badmouth Perry to actually help Perry disassociates himself from the former president. Dubya knows that their association might reflect negatively on Perry the candidate.

Here's the deal with the Yankee Bushes and Texas Aggie Perry's feud. When Perry was running for Lt. Governor...he was in an extremely tight race with dem Sharp. The Bush Clan told him to play nice. Perry said NO...and more or less gave him his middle finger. Perry has very good instincts...he knew he'd not win if he did it their way. He did it his way and barely won. So that is why the Bush clan are still mad at Perry....they can't control him.
They even thought they were powerful enough to unseat him with one of their favorite Rinos Kay Baily...he kicked her A...so who has the power here, is the question? No longer the Bush clan.

Rove needs to get himself a dictionary. "Treasonous" does not solely refer to the crime of betraying one's country. It is also used in the more generic sense: to mean betrayal of trust. Merriam Webster says:
trea·son
noun \ˈtrē-zən\
Definition of TREASON
1 : the betrayal of a trust : treachery
2 : the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign's family
Printing more money would qualify as a betrayal of trust in my book.

I don’t like Bush and Rove is one of the many reasons I don’t.
Any candidate disliked by Bush, Rove et al., looks good to me.
I don’t believe in “compassionate” conservativism. I like the REAL thing.

It looks a though a battle for the future of the republican party may be in the works. The power elite in the beltway appear to be forming up against Perry, Backman and (potentially) Palin, just as they do against Ron Paul.
It could be the rise of the Tea Party that changes the tone in this election ...I hope so.
Saddle up tea party. It's time to ride!

My mixed opinion of Bush has not changed — good on many issues; horrible on others. What is becoming clear is that his advisors don’t like conservative candidates. I’m not going to go so far as to say Bush is putting them up to it but its clear that Bush’s senior advisors are RINO squishes who would be much more comfortable with a Romney than a Perry or a Palin or any other more conservative candidate.
