Rick Perry a right-winger? Don't make me laugh
NJ.com ^ | August 14, 2011 | Paul Mulshine

Posted on 08/19/2011 10:14:10 PM PDT by Tempest

The media may have pronounced Rick Perry the darling of the right wing, but Justin Raimondo has a different take. Perry's a liberal internationalist, just like the Texas governor before him:

Another clueless Texas Governor surrounded by the same Praetorian Guard of conniving neocons who led us down the road to imperial overstretch and fiscal ruin last time around – isn’t that just what the GOP needs right now?

The neocons have anointed their candidate, and it’s clear they have some sense he’s swimming upstream:

"’He will distinguish himself from other Republicans as a hawk internationalist, embracing American exceptionalism and the unique role we must play in confronting the many threats we face,’ one foreign policy advisor with knowledge of Perry’s thinking told The Cable. ‘He has no sympathy for the neo-isolationist impulses emanating from some quarters of the Republican Party.’"

You don’t think that Snowe must go? I’d love for the Maine Tea Party to come up with a strong challenger to Snowe. There’s still plenty of time for that challenger to emerge. And even if there isn’t a strong challenger, I’ll be supporting the strongest tea party challenger, whoever that may be in the Maine Republican Senatorial Primary. The people who I see in there right now, I don’t think they have the stuff to beat Snowe in the primary. I’m prepared to vote for the D, because

No More RINOs.

On the Presidential, only 1 Republican candidate would cause me to vote 3d Party, and that’s Rick Perry.

I would hold my nose and vote for Romney. But not Perry.

That’s where I’m coming from. All Republican candidates are acceptable to me, they’d all keep me on board. Except one. Rick Perry. That should be a red flag to you.

2012 is not a year for Republican voters to vote for a completely unacceptable candidate. And that completely unacceptable candidate is Perry.

“You don’t think that Snowe must go?”

That, sir, is a straw man. I am NO fan of Ms. Snowe.

“I’m prepared to vote for the D, because....

Sheer lunacy!

“I would hold my nose and vote for Romney. But not Perry.

That’s where I’m coming from. All Republican candidates are acceptable to me, they’d all keep me on board. Except one. Rick Perry. That should be a red flag to you.”

It’s not a red flag to me....in the sense that I think YOU mean.

I guess my argument, put more simply is that Rick Perry is so abhorrent to some people (me, and many others - look around) that you really shouldn’t be using any argument that involves “what if Perry ...” Perry is just unacceptable. And he’s the only truly unacceptable one that I can see. Some would vote for Obama. I wouldn’t.

I’m a Palin supporter but Perry is an excellent alternative is she doesn’t run.

Perry isnt perfect but he is not a RINO like Romney, he will be able to bring in all of the conservatives: economic, social, strong defense....and he will get Independents to boot.

He could actually win in a landslide and blow out the Senate, giving us enough to kill ObamaCare.

Perry’s not my first choice, but frankly not because of anything either Raimondo or Mulshine say.

Perry would lose every state north of the mason dixon line and north of the ohio river.

Completely unelectable.

What Perry has on his resume is uniquely bad.

1) No Bilderberg Candidates. Perry is the only Bilderberg candidate.

2) No Karl Rove Candidates. Perry is the only candidate to have been Managed by Karl Rove.

Perry is the only unacceptable candidate.

Just a few months ago you were saying that Palin was unacceptable...now Perry is the “only unacceptable” candidate.

So, you think Romney is acceptable but Perry is not?

Where did I say Palin was unacceptable?

Are all Perry supporters liars?

You’ll have to ask one of them.

I like Palin, where is your link to show I ever didn’t like Palin.

Free Republic has always hated Perry. There are plenty of old threads to show that.

I’m not searching your history for your comments lol. I remember you not liking Palin and supporting Ron Paul. Perhaps I’m wrong. Aren’t you a Paul supporter.

“Free Republic has always hated Perry. There are plenty of old threads to show that.”

Funny, I seem to see a lot of support for Perry on threads. I’m pretty certain that the Founder of the site said he was an acceptable conservative.

I like Ron Paul.

But I also like Sarah Palin.

I have said, often, that the most likely single scenario is a Palin romp, because she’s the most famous, most popular Republican.

I was among those here who said in July/August 2008 that Palin was the only acceptable VP alternative.

I like a Palin/Paul ticket. Paul would help Palin with the areas (independents) where she isn’t currently polling well.

So, you were right about Paul, but wrong about Palin.

And Perry is completely unacceptable.

Perry is unacceptable to you but acceptable to many conservatives.

One man’s pie is another’s hemlock.

I believe Ron Paul to be literally insane and I wouldn’t vote for him for dog catcher (unless my name was Vick).

Fine.

This is a Perry thread, however.

And Perry is the worst.

If it was November 2012, and the Republican Nominee was Ron Paul and the Democratic Nominee was Obama, what would you do?
1) Paul
2) Obama
3) 3d Party
4) Stay home

This was the same question I was asked.

I don’t think any conservative would vote for Obama and if advised you of my opinion of Obama in full, I’d have FBI and Secret Service at my door...because I believe him to be a treasonous POS.

Luckily, we live in the real world and I’ll never have to vote for Ron Paul...he who is content to give Iran nuclear arms.

You can’t answer that easy question that I was asked?

Obama v Paul

Obama
Paul
3rd Party
stay home

it’s an easy question

You didn’t see an answer in that response lmao.

Yes, I’d vote for the moron Ron Paul if it was between him and the Leftist. (rolls eyes at need to spell it out)

ok. fair enough.

I would be very happy to vote for Palin.

The Republican Primary voters will likely understand the historical significance of “First Female President is a Republican”. And Palin is the most popular and famous Republican.
