Mmm, mmm, mmm... “Gooey ducks!” Them’s good eatin’.
Obviously you have to be very careful how and when you shoot a stalker, especially in some states; you have to show that you had no alternative, no escape, and that you were in real danger of losing your life. You can’t just shoot them because they’re annoying. It’s clearly going to be much harder for a man to do this because society in general has little sympathy for men who are abused, threatened, attacked, or even killed by women. We don’t recognize that women can be dangerous, murderous psychos too.
As is the norm for lib enclaves, criminality is not dealt with in a manner that many would consider appropriate and just, as evidenced by this case among many.
Too bad the Ludovico Technique from Clockwork Orange was just fiction.
With this loon, it certainly couldn't have hurt to give it a try.
Thanks very much for posting that updated link, sincerely appreciated :-)
You're referring to what would be regarded as proper in a healthy, normal community. This is hard-Left Western Washington, where the State will allow a psycho to destroy an entire family's lives over the course of 17 years just because he thinks it's the fun thing to do.
Or, family, friends and neighbors of Miss Lundeen would have beaten him bloody in an alley.
If that didn't fix the problem, those same friends and neighbors would have become a bit more focused in their approach to the matter.
Problem solved within a few months; certainly not 17 years. Cost to the State? Minimal.
This guy is one seriously sick SOB.
Remember when we had institutions for mentally ill people like this?
Now they roam the streets.
I do remember, and my understanding is that we can thank the ACLU for bringing suit against the Reagan Administration to release these people back into society. Leftists are quick to say "Reagan released the mentally ill and created the homeless problem" but they conveniently leave out the part about the ACLU's suit which forced the matter.
When you see 'homeless' mentally ill on the streets or hear about some psycho like this who isn't put away properly, thank the ACLU and the Left. Any blood is entirely and exclusively on their hands.
So I understand. I confess that I haven't ever tried one. They are very popular, however.
Great pic, thank you for posting ;-)
Quite possible, and it's entirely understandable if that's what she's doing. Having a situation like this hanging over your head for 17 years would take a terrible toll in a wide variety of ways. This Lady is a poster girl for crime victims who have been let down by the State. There are many, many women who haven't lasted 17 years, however. They've been murdered by their stalkers or they've become alcoholics or committed suicide to end the pain.
Unfortunately, the article doesn't go into any detail on that aspect of the case other than to say that Miss Lundeen's parents had tried to work with the parents of the perp but that they had refused to assist in the matter.
I agree with what you say and I'm guessing that Miss Lundeen's parents placed their entire faith in The State to fix this matter, and they were of course let down.
I suppose that when something like that starts happening, the family will get all sorts of firm assurances from various officials that 'the matter is being attended to' and this tends to stop people from moving toward the more definitive measures that you refer to. I'd imagine that nobody expected this situation to drag on for 17 years.....it's not the sort of thing that you hear about every day and the family probably thought that it was something that could be stopped through official channels. One year becomes two, two becomes ten....
I'm guessing that if Miss Lundeen's family had been told at the outset "this situation is something that we can't stop. It is going to drag on for decades and it will destroy your daughter's life" then they probably would have done things differently......at least I would have.
I'll have to take your word for it...I'm a Washington State native but I've never tried one ;-)
It’s been a long time ago now, but I traveled through Washington State with a friend in the early 70’s. We stayed at some friends of his on the Sound, and we dug geoducks and had them for dinner. They were really good, a pleasant clam taste without the grit, and in large, meaty chunks.
That sounds like a delightful memory of a lovely time. Thank you very much for sharing it :-)
Thank you for your nice comment, though. ♥
You’re quite welcome, and thank you for your gracious words as well :-)
I’m afraid that I’ve never been that much of a shellfish fan. Not sure exactly why; I suppose it may be a matter of bacon typically being on the plate instead ;-)
I hear that. ;-)
I can honestly say, no matter what authorities said, we would not take it for 17 years. 17 months, maybe.
Me neither....this whole thing is pretty astonishing to me.
There’s either a LOT that’s not being disclosed here or there have been some breathtaking, heartbreaking failures on the parenting side.
