A caller said that trucks coming from Texas will not be stopped and inspected until they get to a checkpoint in Kansas? They're pulling this out of their butts.

You take comments by 2 people who practically live in Canada and hold it up as evidence of their superior ability to “be strong on illegals along the Mexican border?”
Then you match that up with real world governing on a 1250 mile border (without one bit of research or understanding of the subject).
The idea of President Perry is dawning across the country, so you attack.

Here's a test, mister old, bold pilot. Identify this aircraft and its pilot, and if you can, what it stands for.How about Joe McConnell in an F-86 with the number of shoot downs he had. Next question...

Hummingbird, I have a Dell computer, if you have a MAC, the whole process for getting screen captures might be different. You should do a Google search on that. Good luck!
I hope Palin enters the race, I want to see them all in the debates. Some here, who think Perry entered to clear the way for others, must be drinking the cool-aid. When Perry runs, he runs to win. One big politician said, “running against Perry is like running against God”. A bit irreverent but it gets the point across.

Here's a great read. You found the correct information.
" Most of the aces were older airmen, many with experience in World War II. The top ace was Capt. Joseph C. McConnell Jr., with 16 victories. He had been a B-24 navigator during World War II."
What's important about this info is that we were fighting more Russians than Chinese in the air.
"Fifth Air Force caught on quickly that the MiG pilots were not Chinese or Koreans. They were Russians. The Americans caught sight of some of them. US intelligence overheard their radio transmissions. The Russians attempted to communicate, as ordered, in Chinese or Korean but reverted to Russian in the heat of battle. Air forces of the three communist nations were controlled by a joint operations center at Antung, but the Russians were clearly dominant.
It would be another 40 years before either the United States or the Soviet Union admitted publicly the participation of Russian pilots in the Korean War. If the news got out, the US government reasoned, public outrage might lead to a broaderand possibly nuclearconflict with the Soviet Union.
... Korea is often thought of as a ground war in which airpowerespecially the fighter engagements in MiG Alley, far from the ground battle linesis regarded as peripheral if not insignificant. In actuality, airpower, both in air-to-ground and air-to-air roles, was of critical strategic importance. Air superiority missions accounted for nine percent of total Air Force sorties. Another 48 percent were interdiction, and 20 percent were close air support. After UN forces held at the Pusan Perimeter and then broke out, Lt. Gen. Walton H. Walker, commander of the US Eighth Army, said, If it had not been for the air support that we received from the Fifth Air Force, we would not have been able to stay in Korea. "

I care about conservative values, and Rick Perry doesn't have them.
I SAY AGAIN ...
Rick Perry is an "establishment pawn" meant to divide the conservative vote so the liberal Republican (RINO) can win.
Rick Perry isn't going to stand for our values.
Look at his voting record.
Anyone who supports him, just isn't looking at the total picture.

If the news got out, the US government reasoned, public outrage might lead to a broaderand possibly nuclearconflict with the Soviet Union. something I have wondered about for a long time is how the US could have gone from a Communist hating culture in the early 50's to a Communist loving culture in the 60's. I think this sort of suppression of what we knew they were doing is part of it (The red diaper babies becoming college professors and public school administrators is another.)
I just can't help but think that if Patton had his way and was able to rearm the Wehrmacht and go after Moscow things would have been better.
I also think that if we could have pursued the enemy in Korea like we did in WW2 that the so called "Cultural Revolution" of the 60's wouldn't have happened.

Absolutely.
Or the revolutionaries can win and then be toppled by the radical elite.

Yes, that’s the correct counter-argument. Look at the states that are losing population.

Illinois would turn you down. This is a crony-capitalist state all the way. We’re the East Berlin of America. We’d rather have welfare than work.
JohnEBoy, sorry I didn’t reply originally. I got distracted, but you’re right. I suspect that a lot of the unemployed are new unemployed transplanted to Texas because of its jobs machine.
I’m not convinced that the whole thing belongs to Perry. He’s a politician and has a past, both old and recent, of pro-statist policies. My Texas FRiends seem to feel he’s a RINO held steady by Texas’ conservative politics.
That said he looks like the best thing in the current GOP field. I believe he can win.
