Well I truly think that he is done.. I suspect that he will flee.. However, my gut feeling the rebels could be worse imho..
In addition, Qaddafi might hold a grudge about the whole thing and offer financial assistance to groups or individuals who are willing to launch attacks against the US and NATO. If he manages to get away with even a fraction of his wealth, he'll have one heck of a war chest. Estimates are that 9/11 cost around $100,000; imagine how much damage can be done by a group of fanatics with $40-50 million.

TRIPOLI, Libya - Libyan rebels said they launched their first attack on Tripoli in coordination with NATO late Saturday, and Associated Press reporters heard unusually heavy gunfire and explosions in the capital. The fighting erupted just hours after opposition fighters captured the key city of Zawiya nearby.
Gunbattles and mortar rounds were heard clearly at the hotel where foreign correspondents stay in Tripoli. NATO aircraft made heavy bombing runs after nightfall, with loud explosions booming across the city.
"We planned this operation with NATO, our Arab associates and our rebel fighters in Tripoli with commanders in Benghazi," Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, the head of the rebel leadership council, told the Arab satellite channel Al-Jazeera. Benghazi, hundreds of miles east of Tripoli, is the rebels' de facto capital.

I read the news at that site as well as number of other sites earlier on, regarding the new developments. I still have strong reservations as how this all will turn out. It had better not lead to large sums of money being given to this country by the US, who needs none of their export products in any shape or form. This administration as far as I am concerned has sunk to much money that we don’t have already into the administration’s desire to stay cozy with some of the European powers.

The same thing could easily be accomplished in Europe, where the new(ish) open borders would allow the terror cells to roam at will.
There are hidden, nuclear materials stockpiled in Europe at least dirty bomb level,and would probably be the primary, mass revenge path for Ghaddafi.
And as you say, Iranian spcial forces based in Venezuela and in other South American countries can bring in nuclear materials - which is quite plentiful in Iran, at least a dozen bombs already on N. Korean adapted missile cones (Ukrainian origin) and bring it across our border.
Suiciders scattered around in America would respond to a call from Ghaddafi to wreak havoc on the Great Satan, which reportedly killed his daughter (Ronald Reagan) and perhaps his son (Obama). Though there are rumors his daughter has been recently seen alive.
Iran would love to fund and operate the attacks and blame it all on Ghaddafi. They are testing Obambi with the 8-year prison sentence on the two hikers. They will negotiate either to make him look good when they release (and continue leaving them alone) or extract their pound of flesh.
