No one will be watching us.
Why don’t we do it in the road?

Heh, heh, I had to wear my M-16 with a dummy cord once. And it had to be inside the sleeping bag too.

But that’s because I left it leaning against a tree while on detail. But just five words prevent the imposition of the dummy cord:

“Will you watch my weapon?”

;^)

What exactly constitutes an “assault rifle”

"Assault" is a word that reporters are required, under guild rules, to scatter throughout any story involving firearms. It bears no relationship to caliber, slug weight, muzzle velocity, slug penetration capability, magazine capacity, or any other quantifiable quality.

Amen. And it might have been handled interdepartmental-like, between brother officers, low key.

In the military, stuffies tried to cut other snuffies a break over the rare bone-head (but no harm done) move.

There but by the grace of God and all that.

Many times during my time as an Army NCO, I was able to fix this problem with two words: Dummy cord.

+1
LOL...thank you for a very good laugh..."dummy cord"

"Now troop...you will keep this item secured to your person at all times. It will become instinct for you to have it with you. You will feel lost and alone should you not have it. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"

I left a wrench and a tube cutter on the bumper of my truck one time. Drove 12 miles and only lost the tube cutter.

I drove over a tube cutter once, resulting in a flat tire and a punctured gas tank. Was that yours?

Not sure where exactly this location is, but I always clean out my trunk in the middle of “no where” in particular rather than in my garage or drive way.

Oh, I always place my arms and other valuable/dangerous items in the roadway while doing so. It is completely reasonable, dontcha know?

WTF?

What exactly constitutes an “assault rifle” as opposed to the regular shootin’ kind?

It's like this. Cops have assault rifles. Ordinary citizens have defense rifles.
