I think the problem with many is that they have implicit faith in the conservative leadership. The problem is that many of these "leaders" even when they share our ideology, are lazy, stupid, negligent or all of the above. The people we have elected are those that have been willing to submit to the equivalent of a prostate exam and passed. More and more, we are finding out that those who are willing to submit to such an exam are the dregs, people who can't make a living in a role other than politics, or people who view it as a part-time hobby.
