President and Government Motors drive consumers into a ditch
The U.S. auto industry wouldn’t exist today if it weren’t for President Obama, or so he says. According to the White House, the 2009 $80 billion auto bailout - of which at least $14 billion was lost - not only saved the American auto sector but preserved 1 million jobs. If you believe that one, he has a $45,000 electric Chevy to sell you.
Earlier this month, at a Ford Motor Co. plant in Chicago, Mr. Obama even argued that Ford, which didn’t take a federal handout, had him to thank for its success. “If [Ford‘s] competitors had gone down, they would have taken down a whole bunch of the suppliers you depend on,” he said. “The brand of American autos would have diminished. That would have had severe consequences for Ford, and that’s the challenge we faced when I took office.” This is an audacious claim. It’s also baloney. Had its competitors vanished, Ford’s greatest challenge would have been to see how quickly it could ramp up production to snap up their market share.
In Minnesota last week, Mr. Obama lectured car companies to start investing in smaller cars. “You can’t just make money on SUVs and trucks,” he declared. “There is a place for SUVs and trucks, but as gas prices keep on going up, you have got to understand the market. People are going to try to save money.” It’s the height of chutzpah for a wannabe executive with no business experience to think it’s his prerogative to tell carmakers that they need to “understand the market,” especially because it’s obvious Mr. Obama is the one who doesn’t understand consumer behavior.

He didn’t save the auto industry, he merely postponed their demise.

You got that right. According to Obama, the US taxpayer actually turned a profit off of GM and Chrysler stock. The truth simply isn't in him.

Consumer behavior? I don’t think the eunuch has a brain anywhere. I have two pickup trucks and one van, and carry a boatload of tools parts and equipment needed for W O R K!
I would be out of a job in 30 seconds the moment I didn’t have what was needed on site on a job. A Prius and a volt just don’t cut it, and if loaded as necessary there mileage would suffer accordingly.
He can take his electric and hybrid kiddie cars and shove the up his ass!

Actually, *I* can draw a picture of a simple fix for the economy on the back of an envelope. But Zero is too much of a narcissist to jump off a cliff.
This is a man who has spent his entire life in an urban environment and has no clue just how many of us drive pickup truck by choice and or necessity.
In my hometown, if there are 30 vehicles parked along main street, at lest 20 to 25 of them will be pickup trucks. Most of us in my neck of the woods learned to drive in a pickup truck. Its why so many of us prefer a standard transmission.

Actually, that came from my grandma, who is now preparing to pass from Alzheimers. Shes languishing in bed, starting at the ceiling. We are just trying to pass the time thinking about the funny things she said in the past, which were many.
I remember about a year ago, granny was at herself and was watching TV with my dad. she pointed at Barry and asked who he was. When dad told her, her eyes got as big a saucers and as clear as a bell she said, “Well now, just how the HELL did this happen?”?
I drive a ford explorer SUV 4wd because
1. It’s SAFE
2. It’s SAFE
3. I can get up the hill to my house in the winter
4. I can see down on traffic
5. It’s SAFE
