Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush warned the Republican presidential hopefuls against ideological intransigence and knee-jerk opposition to President Barack Obama on Tuesday, saying they risk turning off middle-of-the-road voters.
Asked by Fox News host Neil Cavuto if some Republicans go too far in their criticism of Obama, Bush said flatly, I do. I think when you start ascribing bad motives to the guy, thats wrong. It turns off people who want solutions.

Jeb will be very upset if the GOP presidential candidates don’t sign up for the Cotillion program he is putting on in Florida.
After watching Tokyo Rove tap dance around and lie on the Bush/Perry feud tonight on Ted Baxter, I am fully convinced that Rove is 100% Mittens all the way. When Mittens fails to beat Obummer in ‘12, he will have a ready job pushing the new establishment man, Jeb, in ‘16. I don’t trust that porky pig any farther than I can throw him, which ain’t far.
In the real world Bush is still unpopular and Jeb can’t run for President as his family strategized because no one wants anyone else from that family in the W.H. right now except a few elites.
In the real world the Bush family decided to go after the sitting governor of Texas by running a more “acceptable” Republican against him.
In the real world that family called conservatives who had given them elected office more then once racists and elitists. I will never be over that betrayal.
Yes, there are times I can give Jeb and GWB or even their father credit for a few things but I cannot and will not forget how they belittled and trashed the conservative base time and again. Thanks to that lot “conservative” lost it’s popularity. Since they left it’s rebounded and polls over 40% with no other term even close.
We'll take care of it, Jebbie - not to worry.
Don’t these Bushtards have a fancy compound they can go to and leave the rest of us alone?
Good heavens, Jeb, did you not pay attention to McCain’s campaign?
I sort of agree with Jeb, too. There’s no reason whatsoever to make the election about President Obama’s motives. I have absolutely no idea why he’s doing what he’s doing. We could speculate, but we don’t know. Frankly, it simply doesn’t matter. What matters is WHAT he’s doing and the harmful results.
It’s fun and interesting to discuss the president’s motives, but politically, there’s nothing to be gained from it. Those who believe he’s out to destroy the country are already going to vote against him.
Even O’Reilly isn’t stupid enough to believe your grand conspiracy idea. He called Rove out on his behavior toward Perry tonight and the candidate he is actually supporting. Hint...not Perry.
I believe Jeb when he said that his family speaks highly of Governor Perry. Why wouldn’t they?
The Bush family speaks highly of almost everyone! GHWB and First Lady Barbara have even referred to Bill Clinton as a *son*. All in good humor, of course.
Of course, the First Lady also said something sort of snarky about Sarah Palin staying in Alaska, but that’s not the subject of this thread.
The Bush’s are gracious to a fault.
Just a few months ago some here suggested we go with Jed...Why, he was just a dandy peachy governor...Had a dog and was a genuine conservative who had nice suits.
gak
Jeb you magnificent RHINO. STFU!!!!!
Wait! He is out to destroy the county. No question.
The left didn't offer any solutions on Iraq or the economy, but they did do a pretty good job of demonizing Bush by endlessly repeating stuff that wasn't true. How about we take a page from their book and demonize Obama by endlessly repeating stuff that is true?
IMO their efforts pretty much ruined the Republican Party as the Party rushed to be more like Democrats and seek approval of the states Lefties along with the approval of the aforementioned national Republican bigwigs.
I think SchwarzenKennedy was only the second Republican to be elected to a statewide office since Pete Wilson was elected in 1994 while a major supporter of Prop 187. The other Republican elected to a statewide office was the insurance commissioner who was run out of office by the very people Jeb Bush, William Bennett, and Jack Kemp urged him to embrace.
You have to be kidding?? Don't criticize??? Have you any understanding of the history of totalitarianism?
It's appalling how many Freepers have no idea about the evil our Republic faces.
Our candidate will have to go right at the evil Marxist. They must be blunt and state that "his" motives are not in America's interest.
This Marxist pig and his buddies are doing their best to utterly destroy our Republic as founded. And you say, "don't criticize? It's laughable to believe that will work.
Obama's advisers have already stated they will viciously attempt to destroy the GOP candidate. This will be the dirtiest campaign in 100 years. They will lie, distort, criticize, with 100% support of the media.
Jeb is a very weak man who deserves nothing but contempt for is obsequiousness. He is not a "real" man in the mold of leader needed to save a Republic from tyranny.
Our Republic will be saved by a GOP candidate with a Warrior mindset, who will go right at Obama with facts and cunning. I believe Sarah is that candidate. She is fearless and knows in heart what is needed. She knows the nature of Narcissistic sociopaths. She will go right at this Marxist pig and cause him to loose it in a bad way. She will NOT play around with the evil left. She will reach the majority of American's who still believe in the goodness of America. She will crush the Marxist (>370EV)
What a fool I was.
