I have a windows 64 bit machine. Recently MS offered an upgrade to the next version of IE. Except it seems to be a downgrade.
There is no taskbar and I cannot change my search engine default. There is no more file print properties dropdown. No more search for words dropdown. All in all it is much less useful. Is there a way I can go back to my old IE which was much better.
This isnt even any faster than my old one and get the white screen more often.
Please no lectures about needing to change to Firefoxes or some bit-based browser that would require me to grow hair on my chest and wear nerd glasses to begin to comprehend...unless you really need to.
No I dont know what number IE I had, it was after XP and Vista, am I mixing things up here?

You can Right Click in the top area of the browser and select your toolbars from there you can take back control

Seriously, though, I think you’re stuck. I don’t know of any good way to back out a MSIE “upgrade”. Been that way ever since they tried to own the Internet by going proprietary and making IE inseparable from the operating system.
I found that Windows 7 WAS A DOWNGRADE from XP. I am happy at XP SP2 and won’t be buying new machines for a long time.
Obama insisted on screwing Internet Explorer up, too. It’s called the Making Disadvantaged Youth More Internet Savvy Act.
That certainly takes all the fun out of it.

You can go to your Add/Delete programs screen and delete IE9. You will not lose IE, but will return to IE8 as I did.

I have the same problem with my new Dell laptop with Windows 7. I upgraded IE and I just hate the results. I think the new version is number 9.
So you think Foxfire or Chrome would be much better. I’ll give that a try.
All of mickeysoft’sl lates crapware has worse functionality than previous versions.
MSN messenger? no way to block or view a list of blocked people any more. the most useful features gone. try to click on any links in their OWN WEB SITES- all broken
Net Meeting? Probably the best app ever from MS. Well that worked WAY too good for it to be a microsoft product- so it’s gone
Outlook Express? gone
Outlook- large bloated crapware
MSDN website? getting more and more to be a maze of broken links
Microsoft Word? move the menus around so you cant find anything, and stick them on a huge ‘ribbon’ that takes up a third of your laptop screen
Windows7? Well the main reason for buying that is because it is a $200 upgrade that fixes the crappy $200 upgrade to Vista. Oh and you can dock windows at the ceiling and side. - that’s worth $200
I was at Microsoft several times. It is taken over by libtards and their crappy products of late show it.

To the right of the tabs, you should see a house icon (Home), star icon (Favorites), and sproket icon (Tools). Right-click on the blank area next to a tab to enable other toolbars. I prefer to keep all of them hidden to give more browsing area.
