I'm a fan of both politics and sports. They're of interest because they have so many similarities. The competition angle is obvious, of course, but the skills, personal qualities and uniqueness of the players in both arenas of combat are what really catch the fans' attention.
But I've been focusing on the careers of politicians very closely, simply because the sport of politics is the bread and butter to every one of us. Two members especially catch my eye, for at first glance they seem to have a bit in common. Congressman Allen West and President Barack Obama, when brought up in discussions, are considered "black men." That’s where their similarities end. West is the proud descendant of slaves, while Obama is a first-generation American, a descendant of West African Muslim slave traders. Big difference.

He knows what it’s like to get up and go to work. He know’s what it’s like to balance a checking account.
Obama is no Black American!!! He is the end product of African/Muslim parenthood. And.....those of us that know and understand history, know that African/Mulims were the majority of Black Slave traders responsible for sending millions of Blacks into slavery in the Americas. POTUS Obama, by throwing American Blacks under the bus, as he has done so easily, just continues a tradition and practice, he knows and believes in all too well!!!
The worst part of the Obama Presidency is that the possibility of a black man gaining the office of President in the future is now severely diminished due to Obama’s inept handling of the State’s affairs, those that flocked to his banner in 2008 will be reticent to repeat their mistake (except for dyed in the wool believers).
LTC West is a true American and is quite qualified for the office and I give him full marks for not running now as his desire is to complete the term of office he was elected to do. Something Obama failed to do as Senator.
I agree. I am liking Santorum more and wish he would stand out at the next debate. Obama or whoever challenges Obama does not have a chance w/o PA.

It’s simple: Obama wasn’t raised right, and West was.
I have adored Allen West since the first day I ever heard his name when he put his life and his career on the line for his men in Iraq. This is a man I would follow into hell because he would be leading the charge.
To even put his name in the same paragraph as the pos that passes himself off as a man and can’t even pretend at being a leader is a gross insult to Allen West.
Allen West will run for higher office one day, and when he does, I’m right there.
West is one of our great Americans.

As Commander and Chief, I guess Professor You Lie is telling us where his heart really is. Or maybe he is just an odd ball.
I do too, but West is smart enough to know not to run. This is his first time out of the gate, the first election he has ever won. He needs to learn how DC works and formulate a plan before he could go there and and make any real effective changes. DC is its own universe, and whoever ends up as POTUS will have a hard time even starting the process of changing its back-slapping-bedroom-hopping-under-the-table-deal-making “culture.”
Allen West is a true American Black cut from the same Black origins as the famed “Tuskegee Airmen” of WWII heroism, The Civil War volunteer Black regiments, the America Army Buffalo Soldiers. Obama in no Black American!!! He nothing but an African/Muslim, a pass on of his forebears, the African/Muslim traders and profiteers of Black Native African slaves!!!
