One of the good aspects of being a Christian, is knowing this guy will face an ultimate justice. Those poor daughters... One day they may be fully restored, by the same judge. I would sure like to think so.

Well, since you asked, let me see if I can come up with a hypothesis. In secular Austria, there is no black and white. There are only shades of gray. If you see your neighbor do awful things, heck, you put your judgment aside and carry on with your life. Why is your judgment worth more than that of the offender?
Do you remember that before Fritzl, there had been another case of a woman who got away? She wasn’t his daughter, but she’d been held in a basement for years, too. In the Fritzl case, she was held in the basement under an apartment that her father had been renting out to someone. That guy had rented the place for years, would hear the commotion, suspected that there were people living below him while Fritzl denied it and even heard the daughter thump at the ceiling with a broom and thought better of investigating because it was simply none of his business.
Hell, give the guy kudos. He was 85 for crying out loud.

Mark Steyn’s new book has statistics like (memory hazy here) 30+% of European “adults” between the ages of 25 and 29 still live at home. This article makes me wonder under what conditions.
