Of course, the same argument (with appropriate substitution of terms) could also be made for necrophilia and bestiality. The dead and dumb animals cannot offer testimony that their sexual “experiences” were not pleasurable or caused them long term harm.

If memory serves correctly, some time back the annual APA convention did, in fact, have a paper presented on the “normalization” of bestiality.

I was helped by talking with a psychiatrist when I went through a rough divorce in the mid-1970s. However, given the degraded state the profession has fallen to, there is no way I would ever submit to or cooperate with being assessed, measured, or counseled by one of the profession today.

In fact, some psychiatric leaders, like Dr. Richard Green, who were instrumental in removing homosexuality from the APA’s list of mental disorders in 1973, have been fighting to remove pedophilia as well.

This guy and John Money go to the head of the perversion list -- Public Enemies No. 1 and No. 2. (Well, perhaps Obama deserves that distinction ex officio, and for his appointment of Kevin Jennings.)

Premise number 4 is where the argument for pedophilia diverges from that for homosexuality. Sex with children is by definition nonconsensual because children cannot give consent. Homosexuality, on the other hand, is, for the most part, between consenting adults.

I have never agreed with the term “pedophile” meaning “one who loves children”. If they really loved children, they would realize how harmful their sexual practices are to children and leave the kids alone. Call it what it is: child rape.
