No, they don't. To them, his only plus was his opposition to an Arizona-style immigration law (and even this opposition was not what it appeared to be at first). If you were interested in the truth, you could have found this out as quickly as I did. If they ever "loved" him, he's been doing his best since then to turn love to hate.

CRAIG MELVIN, MSNBC anchor: Texas Governor Rick Perry comes from a state where nearly 38 percent of the population is Latino, but his aggressive stance on immigration may cost him some votes in his own backyard, should he get the nomination. He opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants, supports only a limited version of the DREAM Act, and he's also spent some $400 million reinforcing border security. San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro called his initiatives "Easily the most anti-Latino agenda in more than a generation, without shame." Joined now by Lisa Navarrete, member of the National Council for La Raza. Would you agree with that characterization, Lisa?
LISA NAVARRETE, National Council for La Raza: Well definitely more recently. I think a lot will depend on which Rick Perry shows up in this presidential election. You know, last year he spoke, he was an important voice saying that Arizona-style legislation was not the right direction for Texas yet just earlier this year he introduced legislation in the emergency session which mimicked a lot of the provisions of that bill. You know, he's talked about, at our conference, and he's talked about, at the NALEO conference just a couple of months ago, about how integral Hispanics are to Texas' economy and its future. But, you know, on the other hand, he has a voter ID bill that will prevent a lot of them from being able to vote. So it's a question of who shows up.
You nailed it....For Noonan—even those who do what Perry has done—which reaks of liberalism/socialism/fascism. He is WAY too CONSERVATIVE. It is really what is wrong with this country.
People are being forced to become “leftists” by the PC media. Those who refuse to move left on all the issues are quickly branded and completely destroyed by the corrupt lying press. This process has been going on for at least a half of century. Noonan can have her opinions...that is fine....but all Conservatives know what a worthless fraud she is now and that what she thinks is really perverted and ugly and leads to evil socialism which destroys all honor and dignity in societies. She better wake up.
We need “Free Press” not constant Goebbel’s agitprop 24/7. Journalists who slant the “facts” and make accusations and innuendos which need to be only on opinion pages, need to be fined and retractions need to be run as headlines for a month—on any rag that promotes and slanders people with no facts. Like Rather-—the newspapers and “news” programs which promote lies—should have to repeat the retractions in their prime time space-—for a month for the damage they do to perceptions and the defamation of character.
Likewise, the press needs to report the facts—even if they are derogatory of their “hero” and if they have not.....they need to be fined and report continuously what they had hid from the public on purpose. Journalists who continue to mislead and cover up the truth need to fired.
As Solzhenitsyn said in 78—our “free press” is nothing of the sort....It is equivalent to the Red Guard who make up the “truth” and bias the Truth and destroy many good people in the process—exactly like Stalin’s Gulags where Truth never matters.
If we are to remain free—we have to have the freedom of press and accountability of the reported “news” (None of this “hate speech” thought control used by PC Marxists (Mill). Get back to the basics. Leave opinion to opinion pages-—with labeled philosophy of the writers....like “Marxist”, Keynesian sodomite, NAMBLA member.....etc. Worldview matters in all opinion and we should be warned of their bias.
