WALLOWA, Ore. - Police plucked $25 million worth of marijuana plants from an illegal plantation on privately owned forest land in northeastern Oregon on Wednesday.
With the upcoming bow hunting season, law enforcement officals asked hunters to keep their eyes open for illegal pot grows - and to be careful when encountering suspicious people in the woods.
Two men, ages 50 and 25, were arrested and jailed after police raided the grow site.
The investigation started a week ago when a helicopter spotted the marijuana plants from the air.

Large grows these days are almost always run by Mexicans.
What about the third from the end sentence(s). The environuts are going to have a field day too.

I think the poster was hinting at an illegal alien angle, not the grammar.
But they forget weed is shiny when observed from the air..... they tried to keep canopy over it but it seems to have failed....:o)
You would say it directly. Authorities are unsure of the suspects nation of origin. Simple English.

For those who spend time in the woods/outdoors; be mentally prepared to possibly run into hooligans of this nature and remember to arm yourself.

LEOs always claim such absurd numbers in seizures.
It was worse in my day in the 70s and 80s...the exaggerating.
that’s 6 thousand pounds even at 300/oz more or less which is what pound dealers and small growers sell decent ounces for in middle TN..one or two ounces at a time...technically “adult retail”
6000 pounds of dressed buds would come from around 12,000 to 20,000 pounds of timber and plate which could mean 5-10,000 plants all in last quarter maturity...a hair early for that..even in the PNW...here pickings are Octber
and one other little note...that much outdoor ganja staying purely “girl pot” out in the open ...probability of that miracle?

exactly. It is 99.95 % likely I could guess where these men are from and it ain’t from the fifty states. (or 57 as Obama would say—unless of course he counted Mexico as one of our states!! Which could be possible.)
Ah ha! Knew it. They’re illegals. There’s so many marijuana farms in Oregon and Washington run by illegals that it’s become a major business for the area. The only thing I’m surprised about is this was on private land because many are in state and national forests.
