Why Obama Can't Support A Real Jobs Program
Forbes Magazine ^ | August 28, 2011 | Paul Roderick Gregory

President Obama’s much-anticipated jobs speech will undoubtedly cover more of the same things that already haven’t not worked. He will propose an infrastructure bank, extension of unemployment and food stamps, promotion of green jobs, more government-corporate partnerships, and a one-year extension of the payroll tax reduction. He’ll advocate a second stimulus. He may be flanked by his jobs commission, headed by the CEO of General Electric, which earlier issued a lame interim jobs report.

His speech will not be about jobs. Instead, it will be a campaign speech in disguise.

Obama cannot propose a real jobs program. His constituents would rebel. A real jobs program attacks too many of the core beliefs of his party, such as minimum wages and higher taxes on the better off. Even if his presidency rested on it, Obama couldn’t emulate Bill Clinton’s 1996 Welfare Reform Act that triangulated him from his own party. There is no way for Obama to enunciate the equivalent of Clinton’s “We must end welfare as we know it.” His core beliefs rule out such a dramatic move to the center.

However, if Obama really wished to create jobs, he must:

1. Convince the business community that the President is not anti-business by:

• Requesting the resignation of the entire National Labor Relations Board and dropping the case against Boeing Corporation for building a manufacturing plant in a right to work state. NLRB versus Boeing is the starkest symbol of the President’s anti-business stance. He must also reject union efforts to do away with the secret ballot in union certification elections.....

Why Obama Can't Support A Real Jobs Program

Because the Globalist Agenda is to eviscerate the American Middle-class and make the US into another Third-world pit under the heel of a One World Government police-state. Barry Soetoro is currently the chief salesman and enforcer of that Agenda.

Because a real jobs program would entail repealing or otherwise undoing most of his agenda since he got elected.

The number one reason is:

HE HAS NEVER HAD A JOB.

Sorry, no way in He11 any of this gets implemented. nobama has spent 2.5 years destroying the US. No change of course now. In fact, acceleration of current course. How far can he go before Nov 2012?

I’ll answer my own question. Unless Congress grows some balls, further than any of us wants to go.

The Chines would also wish us lots of luck with the next POTUS implementing a portion of the author’s proposals.

As Social Security is to FDR, Obamacare is to Obama. Obama thinks his legacy is secure in Obamacare, as flawed as it is, it‘s all future generations will know -hence it will be forever praised.

Thanks to FDR’s economic interventions term limits were overwhelmingly passed before his body was cold. Obama is no FDR, his limit will be one term, the left has forever to assemble his myth.

He cannot possibly propose any rational policy that would create jobs; he would be at war with his own base. It’s that simple.

Spot on!

I AGREE WITH THAT

Barack 'Jackwagon' Obama only hears the voice of those committed to his Marxist vision.

The unemployment rate in the Chicago metropolitan area was 10.5 percent in July, unchanged from a year earlier, but up from 10.4 percent in June, the Illinois Department of Employment Security said Thursday, August 25, 2011. It was the third straight month-over-month increase.

He cannot possibly propose any rational policy that would create jobs; he would be at war with his own base.

More importantly, he would be at war with his own principles:

1. Destroy Freedom.
2. Destroy Western Civilization.
3. Destroy the United States.

If he can do that, his name will be revered by billions of third-world barbarians for millenia; that's his real goal.

Why Obama Can’t Support A Real Jobs Program

Because it's not in his DNA. Obama is essentially an ideologue. He's bought into the Keynesian policy that government can stimulate the economy by spending, even money that we don't have. Well this is shown to be a dismal failure as any good economist could have told him. Only Obama's economists are lousy economists. So Obama is clueless as to what to do.

I know what to do as do the vast majority of those posting on this forum. But for Obama to do that which is necessary goes against ever fiber in his body. It's a contradiction of everything he has ever believed. Yes, Obama is an economic ignoramus, there's no getting around it. But at least he isn't lonely. There are lots of people in the I-295 Beltway who are economic ignoramuses.
