Your query really touches the core of a Constitutional dilemma. There is a an electoral gate for getting into the house of POTUSA, i.e. the gate being the person must be a ‘natural born citizen’. There are various arguments as to that gate. I personally believe it is a keep-out obstacle/ sign for Obama, Rubio, Jindal or anyone else such as myself and my brother killed on Okinawa. However, for some reason the Founding Fathers did not explicitly make it a requirement for the Vice-President to have to pass through the gate much like they did not do so for congresspersons. There is no need panic as to succession to POTUSA because the Founders did provide for passage through the gate going down the line of possible successors. The first after the VP(if not eligible to pass through the gate) would be the Speaker of the House. If that person is not eligible to pass through the gate then the next in succession comes up to the gate and so on down the line .
