Intended as an attack, this piece only makes me like him. My reaction must be odd.

Excellent point. Also you will never get a candidate that is perfect. No candidate can please everyone

There's no way that without Barack Obama we could have a candidate who seriously talks about repealing the 16th and 17th Amendments and states the truth about the Social Security Ponzi Scheme, and be at the top of the primary field and tied with Obama in the polls.
These ideas are becoming more mainstream after generations of brainwashing by leftists and progressives, and if Perry can be the vessel for that, maybe there is a chance we can turn this mess around.

Me too! I was lukewarm on Perry, thought that he would be too easy to paint as W's evil brother by the LSM until I read this...
The Texas governor floats the notion of repealing the 16th Amendment
That is my mantra - the only thing that can save America. And he hates the 17th, too! The Amendment that gave us Al Franklown.
I'm really considering him now.

When Perry said he wants to make government as irrelevant as possible, I knew I had found my candidate.
Even if it's just rhetoric, it's my kind of rhetoric.

Ruth, I know an excellent way for America to save itself from the Rickster...but she’s probably not what you had in mind, either.

No, you didn’t fix anything. The left is doing anything to vilify Rick Perry and you are falling for it.

I wasnt so found of Perry, but after reading this... :-) My sentiments exactly.
I have voted for Perry in every election since he was first elected Texas Agriculture Commissioner in 1990, but always felt like I was simply voting for the least bad candidate.
The more the lamestream media bashes him, the more I think I like him.

In a letter to Clinton about Hillarycare in 1993 , Perry wrote:
I think your efforts in trying to reform the nations health care system are most commendable.
I would like to request that the task force give particular consideration to the needs of the nations farmers, ranchers, and agriculture workers, and other members of rural communities, Perry continued, noting his administrations focus on economic development for rural Texans.
Rural populations have a high proportion of uninsured people, rising health care costs, and often experience lack of services.
Again, your efforts are worthy, Perry concluded, and I hope you will remember this constituency as the task force progresses.
