The Left is Petrified of Rick Perry

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Powell, Wyoming. Mike, thank you for calling, sir. Great to have you on the Rush Limbaugh program. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, black-and-gold dittos, Rush!

RUSH: Thank you, sir.

CALLER: I just wondered where George Stephanopoulos' sudden love of Mitt Romney last night on his program portrayed Perry as evil, and he loves Mitt Romney now; and you were saying with Rick Perry's first, you know, being on the panel for the debates, I just wonder, you know: Is this all coordinated, or are they laughing, or is it true coordination? Are they really gonna try and prop up Romney just because Rick Perry is scaring 'em so bad, or...? I just wanted to get your feelings on that.

RUSH: They're scared of Perry. They are scared to death of Perry. They're petrified of Perry. They'll always tell us who they fear. They're not worried about Romney. They think they can beat Romney. They also think that they can scare Romney into being a little bit more compliant and less combative with Obama. I don't think they think that about Perry. I think they are very much concerned about Perry, just as they are very much concerned about Sarah Palin. That's what they're telling us here. ....

If there's one man in America right now who's pulling for Mitt Romney, it's Barack Hussein. It would be like running against John McCain twice in a row. Who wouldn't like that?

Perry's the more direct threat. Obama will have as much chance against Perry as his friends in the West Bank throwing rocks at Merkava tanks. There's simply no contest in it. He'll just roll right past.

Palin's the more narrow but larger threat. She'd be harder to get into office, but once she got there, she'd take a chainsaw to every ounce of Barry's legacy, and gut it. She's be thorough and merciless.

The left has every right to be worried. Either they get beaten soundly and sent packing by Perry, or they get beaten narrowly and enter 'the Dark Ages of Palin rule', or they ... get to beat up Mitt Romney.

The left and the useful idiots for the left and others like the paulists that I’ve seen trashing Perry on FR lately.

In the not so distant past Rush had stated that Rick Perry would be his "dream candidate".

I reckon Rush isn't as smart as those Freepers who assert that Perry is a "RINO", or even in some cases, a "RHINO" [sic].

Well .. I gotta tell ya .. I’m not so sure about Palin being easier to beat than Perry.

Sarah Baracuda is one tough cookie. I wish people would stop saying .. I like Palin, but “she can’t win”. I can tell you already - those people had no intention of voting for her anyway.

If you haven’t seen the documentary about Sarah’s performance as Gov of Alaska, “Undefeated”, please take the time to find it in a theater, or get the DVD - it’s breath-taking.

And .. if Sarah doesn’t run - I will put my money on Perry.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO REALIZE NONE OF THEM ARE PERFECT ..??

She can’t win. I’d vote for her, so would you and every real conservative out there. But she’d lose indies in droves. Women despise her.

I highly doubt that you’re going to be able sell the American electorate on yet another tough talking Governor from Texas.

Fish in a barrel.

I'm not from Texas, although I did live there for a year while Bush was governor. Even without my worldly experience, I think that most Americans can tell individual humans apart, even if they're Texan.

Except for liberals. They're going to slip into an apoplectic, rabid sputtering for the duration. Frankly, I'm okay with that.

Romney is most definitely a media install, but even he is making Pravda nervous. The Skid Mark in-Chief is such bird cage newspaper now, all of them make the Muslims nervous, and Sarah hasn’t even thrown her hat in the ring yet.

Hmmmm ..?? Where are you getting your data ..??

Only LIBERAL women hate her - and they won’t vote for her anyway, under any circumstances.

And .. as far as “indies” are concerned .. they hate Obama enough that I believe they’ll vote for any repub who has a better record .. which Sarah does.

Gov Palin can win if (that stinking word) she goes after the presidency.

Once she hits the campaign trail and goes directly to the American people she will win over the hearts and the minds of the population. She is that powerful in her demeanor and message. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

With this one caveat: whoever is behind today's fiasco regarding her appearance on the 3rd needs to be fired. It is my impression that it is someone in her camp that caused the problems and miscommunication. It is someone who feels cocky about being in her 'inner circle'. That's my opinion and I haven't read this evening's updates but I base it on this from RealClearPolitics:

After a dizzying day that saw members of her inner circle threaten to pull Sarah Palin's participation in a rally Saturday

“Where are you getting your data”

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2012/election_2012_presidential_election/obama_50_palin_33

“If Election Day was right now (August 22), President Obama would defeat the former Alaska governor 50% to 33%, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. This marks the first time that the president has risen out of the 40s in hypothetical matchups with any of the major GOP presidential hopefuls. Fifteen percent (15%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Last month, Obama posted a 47% to 38% lead over Palin, the GOP’s unsuccessful vice presidential candidate in 2008.

Palin earns support from 62% of Republicans, while 88% of Democrats back the president. Voters not affiliated with either party prefer Obama by a 51% to 30% margin.

Obama holds a narrow 44% to 38% lead over Palin among male voters, but women prefer the incumbent by a sizable 56% to 29% margin.”

Now go ahead and tell us all how Rasmussen is a lefty Palin hater.
