lies often never hold-up to scrutiny.

Often never...Is that like...sometimes always ???

we are always near a “tipping point” away from the “delicate balance”

The only “tipping point” that I am worried about is the one that will send us into the next ice-age. If history is any guide we are over due. All of man's recorded history has taken place in the last interglacial period. The polar bears may thrive, but an ice bound planet earth will be able to support the number of people currently inhabiting the planet.

How silly can it be to be concerned about a temperature increase that is barely within the tolerances of even satellite measurements when the EKG like geologic chart of the earth's past temperatures shows we are standing at the edge of the next precipice? The saving grace is that geologic time is measured in thousands of years so the sharp decline in temperatures will still probably take a hundred years or more. But the success of the AGW hoax still baffles me.

Way to Go!!!

A war on Facebook...something serious to discuss...that would be a change from what I see on Facebook...last time I looked!

There are more facets than just one for the “who is trying to keep this scam alive” question.

Yes, there are some that stood to make a bundle.
Yes, there are some that used it as a power grab and to advance communism.
And there are some that are truly religious about the issue - it is their reason to matter. These are the folks that are LEAST likely to give it up. Imagine giving up your reason to matter in this existance.

Algore, now, is (I believe) a weird combination of “gonna get rich” and “need a reason to matter”.

See #70... it'd be a baffling situation if it DIDN'T succeed.

And I thought mass could not travel at the speed of light. So particles with mass are entering our solar system after being emitted millions of light years away ? Thought they were just pure energy. Thanks for the info. Will research it later.

The affects from cosmic rays are not the primary climate change driver. Not all condensation is caused by cosmic rays. And the cosmic ray effect itself is perhaps one in a series of amplifiers that modify solar emissions changes before they enter the Earth's atmosphere. For example, the AGW proponents have stated that visible light does not change enough to cause significant affect on our climate. Well, we now how discovered one amplification mechanism. So less visible light combined with more clouds equals significant climate changes.

Visible light was always just a part of the spectral picture. There is also infrared and UV light. Without an atmosphere the UV light emission from the sun would destroy all life on this planet just by itself. And NASA has shown significant changes in UV light emission during changes in solar activity. Of course you could not get anyone from NASA or the Ozone Hole crowd to even consider such possibilities 15 years ago.

Algore, now, is (I believe) a weird combination of “gonna get rich” and “need a reason to matter”.

Gore exhibits traits of being heavily programmed (IMHO). My guess is it occurred during one of his visits to Russia when he was VP. There used to be a picture on the web that clearly demonstrated some weirdness. Gore was visiting some old Soviets Manor home outside Moscow and a picture was taken of him in standing front of a portrait of Stalin. The look on Gore's face just spoke volumes. That image was scrubbed from the web.

And it is perhaps no coincidence that the Russians are the big efficient energy suppliers, while the west is now killing birds with windmills. And it was perhaps no coincidence that Russians hackers have been rumored to be the ones who exposed the fraudsters in East Anglia. IMHO - The Russians pulled the plug because they have a product they want to sell now and since the Earth may be cooling, that product is even more valuable. Oh, and Gore has absolutely no clue as to what he is currently doing. Which explains his ridiculous racism rebuttal.

You are missing the point. And it doesn't apply to Mars, I don't know about Venus, or other planets. It applies to Earth because Earth (unlike Mars) has a large magnetic field that deflects the charged particles (cosmic rays) raining on Earth.

The sun's magnetic field affects the Earth's. The sun's eleven year primary sunspot cycle is a symptom of the sun's fluctuating magnetic field. The Earth's field is alternately compressed and expanded by the sun's magnetic field cycle, and more or less cosmic rays rain in and cause cloud formation at different rates and altitudes. Water vapor is orders of magnitude more significant than CO2 as a "greenhouse" gas, hence Earth goes through cycles of warming and cooling coupled to the sunspot cycle.

It is not possible to determine how CO2 affects climate until an accurate model incorporating the naturally driven fluctuations of water vapor in the atmosphere are constructed and validated. I understand that the current climate models typically ignore this difficult problem.

Okay. Just watched the Nir Shaviv on the WUWT thread that
Ernestatthebeach linked above. These cosmic rays are generated by stars within our Milky Way that go super nova. So these particles of cosmic rays are traveling thousands of light years to our solar system. All I can say is these super nova must be generating a lot of rays when they explode. Hard to fathom that we have so many traveling within the Milky Way galaxy.
