I’m a Strat guy, but my next axe may have to be a Les Paul. Better start working out though, they weigh a ton!

I'm a Strat guy too, but I've wanted a Les Paul ever since I was a kid, when I saw the Frampton Comes Alive album cover.

What exotic? The vast majority of Gibson guitars are made from Mahogany and Maple, with Rosewood and Ebony for fingerboards, with Spruce for their acoustic guitars.

This whole affair stinks of International poop.

There is no reason for this. They were raided by 0bama’s DOJ in 2009. The DOJ still has their property from that raid, in which NO CHARGES, or even allegations, have been made to date. They have still not said why they they raided them at that time or this most current raid.

Gibson has meticulous records showing that they were in compliance with every International law, India’s domestic laws, and our our laws. The rumor I hear, from a Music store owner and former Gibson employee, is that this has something to do with Pakistan claiming some kind of Civil Rights violation, if you can believe that.

Gibson is not active in Political activism or donations, I find only that they donated a total of $4000 to the NRSC in 1996.

It seems that every freakin’ facet of our lives is being shredded by 0bama and his criminals-in-suits-henchmen.

Here’s a warning for you that hate us, our traditions, culture and America so badly...if you come to take the wood of my Strat or my Dobro, I’ve got some lead to exchange for them. lol

asks the CEO if Gibson is a union shop - NO, asks if his competitors are union - YES.

We had really better unite and take back this country in 2012 or we're finished.

Geeeez, it isn't like they were running guitars to mariachi bands in Mexico or something....unlike the DOJ with guns to drug cartels.

Holder needs to be given the boot, ASAP, and the rest of these unconstitutional thugs sent packing. Maybe they can be sent to Madagascar instead.

*** What exotic? ***

This attack on Gibson was first reported last week. Those early articles have all that info on the 'exotic illegal woods'(1).

The subsequent ones are about Barry's Gestapo tactics. So if you missed the beginning reports there's a lot of catching up to do and now hard to understand 'the why'.

(1) But you got two of them Ebony and Mahogany. There's good (legal) and bad (illegal)

probably nothing special about the wood. There are now a whole set of regulations concerning the importation of wood products due to the risk of spreading wood-borne insects between countries. You can't even use a wooden skid any longer, they've gone to "processed lumber" (ie. laminated plywood) or polymer skids. This has forced a lot of companies to add a hefty "Shipping & Handling" charge onto most industrial shipments. If you business is importing wood for processing into finished products, I can't imagine all the hurdles that you'd have to jump over. Probably all kinds of certifications are needed. Now if Gibson's Indian supplier cut some corners, then you can bet that some eager-beaver at the Obama DOJ is going to try and prove that Gibson knew about it. I also read that this case is basically one where DOJ is enforcing Indian law. Really? We're going to put a US manufacturer out of business because a foreign country is alleging that they broke an environmental 'law'?

Gibson is nonunion.

In light of the NLRB Boeing case is this a thinly veiled threat to unionize or get out of the U.S. for Gibson's manufacturing?

It's a soviet-style pogrom meant to demoralize and to push our society over the edge. Plain and simple.

We need soeomone to make a call for resistance against this sweeping tyranny before it's too late.

It’s beyond ‘no longer’ defending. Liberal elites are forcing a company to dump American workers. There’s a reason so many Americans are unemployed - and it’s starting to look like it’s not an accident.

CHRIS DANIEL: Mr. Juszkiewicz, did an agent of the US government suggest to you that your problems would go away if you used Madagascar labor instead of American labor?

HENRY JUSZKIEWICZ: They actually wrote that in a pleading.

CHRIS DANIEL: Excuse me?

HENRY JUSKIEWICZ: They actually wrote that it a pleading.

CHRIS DANIEL: That your problems would go away if you used Madagascar labor instead of our labor?

HENRY JUSKIEWICZ: Yes

Our government no longer defends working citizens or American businesses.

Not only has our government not represented the interests of Ameican workers and companies for a long, long time, it has actively worked against them.

McCarthy, Birch, and Goldwater were are all correct about the enemy within.

Martin & Company — one of Gibson’s main competitors

This isn't quite true. Yes, Martin is a competitor to Gibson, but they only make acoustic guitars, while Gibson is primarily in the business of making electric guitars. There's actually little overlap between their primary markets. Gibson's chief competitor is Fender Guitars, and has been for over 40 years.

“So now we’ve gone from railing against companies exporting jobs overseas, to REQUIRING companies to export jobs overseas?”

Democrats have been OUTFORCING America’s jobs for 40+ years. What’s new about that??

The 1970 Clean Air Act amendments killed the US Steel Industry, and it’s been downhill ever since.
