A plurality (47%) of Likely U.S. Voters believe it is at least somewhat likely that Palin will enter the presidential race, but that includes only 13% who feel it’s Very Likely. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 35% think a Palin bid is unlikely, but just five percent (5%) say it’s Not At All Likely. Eighteen percent (18%) are undecided. Only 18% of voters think it would be good for Republicans if Palin entered the race. Sixty percent (60%) say it would be bad for the party, while 11% predict it would have no impact. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure.
Even most Republicans (52%) believe it would be bad for the GOP if Palin threw her hat in the ring, a view shared by 74% of Democrats and 54% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

So far I haven't seen much out of Priebus, so if Romney thinks he can get in because the BlueHairs in Kenosha and South Bend can cut some coupons from the AMC days and force the others to make him the winner........ ? Well, that's the way they used to do it ~ but there are more primaries now, and that assumes OLD MONEY (AMC is "old money" in the Midwest) counts today like it counted 50 years ago.
Funny that none of us have ever seen a sign of widespread support in the Republican base for Romney. He's been running a long time. His old man ran a long time. Just never did see that support.

Because 60% of the people think that everyone else hates her so even if they themselves like her they think it would be bad for her to run because they assume no one else likes her. It’s how the media game is played.

I think that sums up pretty much everyone on both of your ping lists perfectly. That pretty much is the best statement I've heard on this matter and the view of those of us who support Sarah and loathe the RINOS.
Like I said I learned that the GOP were bums when they pandered to blacks by getting Alan Keyes to run against Obama when they should have stuck by Jack Ryan who IMO could have wiped the floor with Obama back in 2004.
And I do agree with you I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER vote for Romney. I said the same thing about Rudy back in 2007 when we had Rudybots telling us how awesome he was. Even though he shares most of the views of Zero.
@Virginia Ridgerunner I think why you are getting so many responses is because saying "No Palin, No Peace" is making people think you would support Obama if Palin doesn't run (which I know you wouldn't).

No doubt that would attract a certain crowd, but it'd definitely let the Democrats know that we are serious this time so come up with a candidate who is able to do the job and represent all American interests.
What I'd suggest in reality is somewhat short of that sort of hard line but we have to have something more than "our leftwingtard has a bigger goody bag than your leftwingtard" if we want to get rid of Obama and his whole crowd.
Besides, there's nothing left in the goody bag!

I hate to say this, as much as I love Sarah, but I think these polls are right, as they fit in completely with my personal experience. Let me give you an anecdotal story. I live in the most conservative areas of CA, that elect conservative Republicans to congress every time. A couple monnths ago I decided to stop in a local card room and play some poker. There were 9 players at the table, mostly small business owners and retirees. The converstion turned to Obama. 8 of the players were complaining about him, 1 seemed to be pro-Obama. He asked, "So who do you want, Romney?" Everyone else pretty much joined in "Anybody but Obama". He asked "Sarah Palin?". I waited to see what others would say, there was dead silence. Finally I said, "Sure, I'd vote for her". A couple others agreed, most didn't say anything. I've had a lot of similar experiences. People like Sarah, but either don't think she can win or don't think she is up to being president. If she does run (I still don't think she will), it's going to be a very tough climb to overcome that perception.
Palin is in their heads the same as the MSM, living rent free.
And I will vote for whom I please also.
It has been pointed out that in 2007, everyone KNEW Hillary was the one to beat.
And the Dems wanted "Anybody but BUSH!". Anybody but Obama will work as well for us. Choices must be made CAREFULLY.
Things change. Constantly. Real thinkers watch and work where they can.
Sure they can. But if you start out with really high negatives, it just make it that much harder. You are not having to win over the decided - you are having to win over those who HAVE decided, and decided they don't like her. That is much harder - not impossible, but harder. And the fact that she hasn't moved that negative approval number in over a year, in spite of her national tv exposure, constant Tea Party appearances, etc, tell me she is going to show those opposed to her something they haven't seen in her before.
We'll know who's right soon enough.

Thanks very much, and the Governor Of Texas, Rick Perry was the only Republican governor that endorsed Rudy Guiliani in ‘08. Go figure.
No crystal ball, just simple math, the conservatives who vote in the primary will be split between Palin, Perry, and even Bachman & Cain.
Romney will squeak through as the nominee.
