Rick Perry Leads While Voters Want Sarah Palin on the Sidelines
Sunshine State News ^ | September 3, 2011 | Kevin Derby

Posted on 09/03/2011 7:24:40 AM PDT by AAABEST

A Fox News Poll unveiled late Thursday revealed that Gov. Rick Perry of Texas held a solid lead over former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

(snip)

When other candidates -- including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani -- were added to the mix, Perry remained in the lead. Both Palin and Giuliani have left the door open to running for the Republican presidential nomination.

Perry led that scenario with 26 percent followed by Romney with 18 percent. Palin took third with 8 percent followed by Paul with 7 percent.

(snip)

When Fox News looked at all voters, they found very little support for a possible Palin presidential campaign. Palin will be stumping in Iowa, which holds the first caucus, and New Hampshire, home of the first presidential primary, over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Only 20 percent of all voters wanted Palin to run for the White House while 74 percent opposed the idea -- and the voters who wanted her staying out of the contest included a large part of her base.

A mere 25 percent of Republicans backed a Palin presidential candidacy while 71 percent were lined up against it. Even among voters who considered themselves part of the tea party movement, Palin flopped. Only 28 percent of the tea party voters supported Palin entering the race while 66 percent opposed it.

1. I’m not a “Palin supporter”.

2. If you’re gonna eat what’s served at the Fox circus, don’t whine about clowns that come with the meal and your patronage.

Now about that certifeecation - are your an exception, or are you a typical example of what the VA is calling “Unemployable” these days?

Isn’t typing an employment skill?

>>THAT JERK should take it easy!

Can’t. Gotta pay taxes to keep that teat flowing for ya.

If you can run your fingers on FR, you can sure as hell be running them to fill out employment applications as well.

Sarah can decide on her own,

That is increasingly doubtful.

I have never, in any situation been attacked as I have been by this anti-veteran troll. I have responded in lower ways than I would like to. I sincerely apologize to any passing readers of those posts. The “FReeper” who seems to be personally offended by my being a disabled vet no longer exists to me. I will not be responding further to his abusive and disgusting posts.

I sincerely hope and pray that THAT person is not a sign of things to come in the future of this forum. I live in a very “blue” area of a very “blue” state. Anti-mililtary is like a relilgion here.

But I have to come to Free Republic to be attacked for having served my nation and been injured. By a 3 yeard old troll.

Since FR won’t put in a clown filter to keep us seeing the posts of idiots like the asshat you’ve been dealing with, just put him on ignore. Yer a good poster and don’t let the trolls get to ya!

What is “ignore?” I’d like to use that feature if we had it.

Well, what the hell is she waiting for? Gimme a break! What a leader! We need a leader now not at her whim. Please beg me some more ‘cause I’m still considering it- Just doesn’t cut it anymre.

Troll! If you don't believe that all these people who don't want to vote for her will be suddenly swept to voting for her in November and after her two terms she will be carried into heaven like Elijah you are a dirty DU troll! /s Truth is, every time I talk to a non Freeper all I hear is how they don't like Palin for whatever reasons. The sheep of the public have been poisoned against her and nothing will change that.

Assuming you are in California, being a Charger fan? Maybe you are hanging with the wrong crowd if all you hear is negative things about Gov Palin?

Really does not matter if the folks from California,NY,MASS etc do not like her, they are going to vote Democrat anyway...speaking of the general election that is

Wow...a rational, calmly stated post on a Palin thread.

Absolutely correct on all counts. It IS early despite the fact that it seems the campaign has already been going on for months. And yes, Tea Partiers will support whoever seems to be the alternative to Myth.

Also agree that she isn’t running. I too haven’t thought she would for some time and would only add that if her plan was to get in now, she probably made a tactical blunder by doing so. She let Perry become a first tier candidate so from that perspective she waited too long.

I’d also add that there are a couple of filing deadlines bearing down...Colorado coming up this month I think and another next month - I’m not sure which one.

But Sarah can read polls. She simply can’t win. That doesn’t mean I think she’s not a good conservative...she clearly is. For many reasons, most of which aren’t really her fault, she just isn’t electable.

Hank
