Wish I had time to argue with you ignorant turds who constantly fight and argue over the stupidest of things.

Truth is there are no valid estimate on what a fence would cost only scare tactics like yours. Get a life.

On the remote possibility that your figures "are even close" keep in mind the right fence will end or severely stop 100-150 billion dollars per year costs of illegals.

Such as 6.7 billion per year to jail them, welfare costs, terror threats-- how do you calculate another 911? What that will cost the nation, social costs, medical costs ever been to a ER room where the illegals flourish? You don't have a clue dude.

You just don't seem to get it, do you? Wrap your mind around this fact: the Israelis cannot stop people from digging tunnels under this:

Smugglers have dug so many tunnels under that thing the Israelis cannot keep up with them.

What in God's name possesses you to think that the US is going to do any better?

Oh for crying out loud....Close the dang border and we’ll clean up the traffic jam of illegals entering this country.

Our solders train on that border and during their practices illegals cross right in front of them...they have to stop and let them pass......until our Gov. allows the Border Patrol to do their job...which they never well....a fence would indeed stop the thousands daily ‘walking in”.

“Ignorant turd” - now that’s a rejoinder! Perhaps you should take a look at yourself in the toilet water next time.

There are perfectly valid estimates to what any fence would cost - all one needs to know is the sort of fence to be constructed and the length across which it is to span, and most contractors can give you a tolerably good estimate.

Keep in mind that the “right” fence wouldn’t do a damned thing, certainly not anything you’ve pooped up.

A border fence would be nothing more than a pyhhric victory - talk about the liberals/democrats spending this country into penury. False conservatives and their religious fanaticism about “The Wall” will end up making those liberals look like the souls of fiscal prudence.

That’s all you are, a false conservative, with an overweening, xenophobic religious obsession with an inanimate object. The border fence is your golden calf, your false idol.

It’s clear to me you want open borders......enough said then....when you and others understand and take the time to investigate how and when they are coming in...and that by the thousands daily then we’ll talk further.

Some will come just the same....but a Fence without a doubt would stop the onslaught we see now.

Baloney. A single-strand barbed-wire fence strung on 6" diameter poles would do nothing of the sort. All it would do is become a steady rain of money on the contractors hired to go out and ride the fence to patch up the holes the illegals cut in it every night on their way north.

The border fence has become a golden calf, a false idol worshipped by so-called "conservatives."

If some of those 18% were skilled enough to do the high-tech work that most jobs now require.

As if an advanced nation with over 300 million people with hard science/math/engineering universities like Johns Hopkins, MIT, Georgia Tech, Illinois, CalTech, Purdue., etc. has a shortage of high-tech workers and needs to import from the third-world. Sure.

That's just pro mass-immigration, cheap labor propaganda.

Here’s some facts...from Israel on the success of their fence.....

During the 34 months from the beginning of the violence in September 2000 until the construction of the first continuous segment of the security fence at the end of July 2003, Samaria-based terrorists carried out 73 attacks in which 293 Israelis were killed and 1950 wounded. In the 11 months between the erection of the first segment at the beginning of August 2003 and the end of June 2004, only THREE attacks were successful, and all three occurred in the first half of 2003.

Since construction of the fence began, the number of attacks has declined by more than 90%. The number of Israelis murdered and wounded has decreased by more than 70% and 85%, respectively, after erection of the fence.

The nose on your face isn't clear to you, so how can anything such as what I "want" be clear to you, particularly since I've not even had the chance to bring up anything constructive on how sensible, rational people would go about dealing with the problem.

I say again, if this won't stop palestinian smugglers:

Then why would anything less stop illegal immigration?

Answer that question: explain what makes the US Border Patrol so much better than the Israeli Army?

A Bracero program or an H1-B and a illegal immigration are not the same thing.

For all intents and purposes they are the same thing. These visa programs allow them in and give them time to map out the underground economy and welfare benefit programs and plan their disappearance inside the country.

Very nice. Now go and look at the statistics on the ordinary smugglers - not the militants, the contraband smugglers - and you'll find that they multiply like rats and move under that wall with impunity. That is what we should be focusing on, because we're not talking about Mexican suicide bombers coming into the US or arms smugglers trying to set up caches of weapons for paramilitary groups already well-established in the US, we're talking about garden-variety "coyotes" shepherding individuals across the border.

Here, I'll make it a little easier for you and cite from an article in The Telegraph that discusses the other side of the coin - the barrier that Egypt built to go along with the Israeli barrier (yes, Egypt built its own barrier, too, and in some cases that barrier was better built than the Israeli barrier): Egypt's Gaza smugglers shrug off reports of border barrier
Trucks filled with contraband trundle along on a road leading to Egypt's frontier with the besieged Gaza Strip. Their cargo will be sorted into bags and then slipped into Gaza through the tunnels.

Here's the leading pic:

They're just so cute when they wrap their faces up, aren't they?

"That one has concrete," said Abu Khaled, as he parked his mud-camouflaged pick-up by the side of the road. The gaunt, bearded Bedouin operates a tunnel himself, and specialises in supplying the Palestinian enclave with concrete.

For a man wanted by the police for smuggling, Abu Khaled is remarkably upbeat about his prospects. He shrugged off reports that the authorities were constructing an underground barrier to sever the tunnels into Gaza.

"It shouldn't pose a problem," he said.

C'mon; you mean this smuggling thing has gotten so sophisticated, so specialized, that this smuggler specializes just in bringing concrete through the tunnels under the Egypt-Gaza barrier?

And from further down the article:

But they do concede that a metal barrier, if fully constructed, might reduce the number of tunnels, estimated to be in the hundreds.

Some smugglers might even welcome a reduction in the competition, which has raised prices of goods in Rafah and neighbouring border towns while pushing down prices in Gaza, they say.

So, there you have the only net effect your fence will have, other than wasting billions of US taxpayer dollars - you'll have increased the wealth of the "coyotes" who smuggle illegals into the US.

Congratulations on bringing US welfare to the "coyotes."

So you are basically admitting to breaking the law by hiring illegals?

YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!
