President Hugo Chavez has warned that the Venezuelan opposition seeks to create favorable conditions for a foreign intervention as it has occurred in Libya that has been bombed by the western powers with the pretext of supporting insurgent groups.

"Some people think that the case of Libya will be repeated here. They are conniving and plotting for an invasion of Venezuela, and we have to be on the alert to prevent that madness from taking place," said Chavez at the Miraflores presidential palace after concluding his third period of chemotherapy.

The president said that the attacks of the right wing on the Venezuelan Armed Forces are part of the campaign aimed at creating confusion in the country, and at instilling hatred and terror in the people...

Among other issues, the president reiterated that the opening meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) will be held in December. It was initially scheduled for August 5-6, but it was put off because of his health.

The creation of the regional block, which will be made up by all the nations of the continent except the United States and Canada, is viewed as the most transcendental political event in the continent over the past 100 years.

"We'll hold that summit, and Latin America and the Caribbean will consolidate as a zone of peace, so that the wars and miseries of the world come to an end," said Chavez.

Venezuela’s peculiar crude has to be refined in the US Virgin Islands. If we want Chavez to go, all we have to do is shut down that refinery for “maintenence”.

Pass the Popcorn ping.

The Hess refinery isn’t the only one that can handle his crude. There is one in Houston that can and does as well. Lots of jobs there....

There are six oil refineries in Venezuela. The Paraguaná Refinery Complex (Spanish: Centro de Refinación de Paraguaná) is a crude oil refinery located in the Venezuelan state Falcón and currently considered the largest refinery complex in the world.

It has the capacity to refine 940,000 oil barrels per day. This complex holds 71% of the refining capacity of Venezuela.
