(NewsCore) - As far as management problems go it's become the stickiest labour issue of the French summer.
Executives who would normally be delighted to learn that their employees have foregone lunch breaks or stayed late to work on a project have been dismayed to find their motivations have nothing to do with profit or company advancement.
The problem is that office staff have spent hours producing extravagant designs by sticking vast quantities of Post-It notes to their office windows over the past couple of months in a craze that is sweeping the nation.
The latest creation, a huge six storey representation of Asterix and Obelix, appeared on the windows offices of Societe Generale, the bank, in La Defense business district west of Paris last week.
Fifty employees stuck 9,000 notes of eight different colors on the windows...

3M stock ought to go up at this news...
what good is a story like this without ONE photo??
Did I miss something?
Yes, I’m an Asterix and Obelix fan, not to speak of Tintin. Where’s the pics?
Color me not impressed!
Now, if they actually put that effort into some sort of business appropriate productivity, maybe the EU wouldn't be in such a sad economic state.
Guaranteed jobs = guaranteed failure.

It isn’t as if they had to worry about their jobs. I understand it is pretty hard to fire someone in France.
Thanks for the pictures. They make the thread! But what a waste of labor!
There were no pictures associated with the story I posted. But thanks to enterprising FReepers, there are pictures now. Just scroll down (or up).
When you can’t be fired for wasting time or office supplies ....
I like the Tintin one... :-)
****The rules are that you can use only whole Post-Its no cutting the edges to suit your design and that you cannot write on them or color them in.****
There’s rules to them Post-it Wars. What, did they have a Geneva Convention or something?
Don’t many businesses pay artists to paint on the windows anyway? We heard about here, so it is obviously an effective advertising technique.
No pictures, no story.
Very difficult, and it incurs expenses that must be paid for many years. Pretty much the same in many other countries.
No manager in those countries wants to continue paying those expenses when staff has been cut. They just tell the US HQ that all personnel are required.
So, when a US company with offices around the world announces a "personnel reduction", people in the US get nailed.
Lotsa pics here.
Now if they could combine Post-It Note warring with planking, owling, and headless horsemanning into a modern sport I think we’d have something here.
In case you don’t know what planking, owling and headless horsemanning is take a look at these links.
Pretty cool. The Tin Tin one is the best, but the Mona Lisa is very good too.
This reminds me of a good prank hubby and I saw. Well, it was meaness, but allowing for that, pretty good.
We saw a car in our local supermarket parking lot, COVERED in post-it notes. It seemed like they all had some mean note written on them.
Usless article without graphics.
Patience is a virtue.
