ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - The co-inventor of the Post-it Note died Saturday at his home in St. Paul, Minnesota. Spencer Silver, 80, invented the adhesive that would later be an integral part of the popular 3M product, the company announced in a release Wednesday. Silver made the breakthrough in 1968, discovering a formulation of adhesives that was strong enough to hold paper together but that could be removed and re-stuck again without damaging the paper. After he made the discovery, he and his 3M colleagues began looking for applications, calling it a "solution waiting for a problem to...

A couple of years ago, somebody came up with the great idea of plastering grocery store shelves and gas pumps with Post-It notes reading, "How's that Hopey-Changey thing working for you?"I suggest a renewal of that campaign with a little caveat: "Before Obama took office, gas was $1.84 a gallon. How's that Hopey-Changey think working for you?"

(NewsCore) - As far as management problems go it's become the stickiest labour issue of the French summer. Executives who would normally be delighted to learn that their employees have foregone lunch breaks or stayed late to work on a project have been dismayed to find their motivations have nothing to do with profit or company advancement. The problem is that office staff have spent hours producing extravagant designs by sticking vast quantities of Post-It notes to their office windows over the past couple of months in a craze that is sweeping the nation. The latest creation, a huge six...

A “rational” immigration policy will likely become law in the United States, but only after “some time,” former President George W. Bush said in a question-and-answer session aired Sunday night. Evoking the “America first” policies that predated World War II, Bush said he fears that isolationism, nativism, and protectionism are creeping back into American life. “I’m a little concerned that we may be going through the same period,” Bush said at a Southern Methodist University forum recorded January 24.

In September 2000, one year before the Al Qaeda attacks of 9/11, a U.S. Army military intelligence program, known as “Able Danger,” identified a terrorist cell based in Brooklyn, NY, one of whose members was 9/11 ringleader Mohammed Atta, and recommended to their military superiors that the FBI be called in to “take out that cell,” according to Rep. Curt Weldon, a longtime Republican congressman from Pennsylvania who is currently vice chairman of both the House Homeland Security and House Armed Services Committees. The recommendation to bring down that New York City cell -- in which two other Al Qaeda...
