Illegal immigrants to protest education laws

CHARLOTTE (AP) — Illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children plan to risk arrest and deportation at a rally in Charlotte where they'll protest laws that make it harder for them to get an education.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported that the rally will be held Tuesday at Central Piedmont Community College.
Rally organizer Domenic Powell says high school- and college-age youths will publicly declare their immigration status in what he referred to as a "coming out" rally, culminating with a march at the college.

Because Charlotte is in a county that is part of a federal program known as 287(g), which allows local enforcement agencies to enforce federal immigration laws, Serrano is aware that attending the rally comes with the risk of arrest and deportation.
But he and other illegal immigrants in his grass-roots advocacy group El Cambio say they are willing to take that risk because they believe they are being forced to live in the shadows, unable to do such things as get a license or work permit or pay in-state tuition.
Rally organizer Domenic Powell, a founding member of the advocacy group N.C. Dream Team, said high school- and college-age youths will publicly declare their immigration status in what he referred to as a "coming out" rally, culminating with a march at Central Piedmont Community College.
"All that is being asked for is a pathway for young people to correct their status," Powell said. "These people are not criminals. They're being made criminals."
On Facebook, information about the rally has been listed under "North Carolina: We Will No Longer Remain in the Shadows!" As of Saturday evening, nearly 200 people said they would attend.
The rally is scheduled to fall on the same day as the kickoff for the Democratic National Convention, which starts at 10 a.m. at the Time Warner Cable Arena. And the rally caps off a summer marked by a public shift by the Obama administration in the way deportation proceedings are carried out.
What do the parents need to do to apply for resident status for their kids? File and pay back taxes maybe? Hum?

REFERENCE In the last five years, some 2.3 million illegal immigrants decided they were "entitled" to EITC----money intended for low wage US citizens............and the IRS paid them. Word spread throughout the Third World.......now EITC payouts to illegals grew fourfold over the last five years.
The US Treasury report noted that paying these credits to illegals is explicitly prohibited by U.S. law, which holds that those unauthorized to work here cannot receive federal benefits.
The IRS claims it's not its job to check the immigration status of those requesting U.S. money (easily done if a filer has a valid Social Security number instead of a "taxpayer ID"). The tax agency apparently thinks laws only apply to people it audits — not politically sensitive illegal aliens. So now we have the sorry spectacle of $4.2 billion in money from law-abiding taxpayers flowing to law-breaking foreigners who belong in other countries. No wonder the U.S. has some 12 million illegal immigrants, rolling in by the thousands daily in part from the well-established human smuggling rackets controlled by Mexico's drug and crime cartels. NOTE WELL: Earned Income Tax Credit is available to immigrant workers who obtain legal work status. But the law allows immigrants to claim EITC for up to three years prior to obtaining that status. Conniving illegals simply file a tax return for the years in which they were not legally eligible to work in the US.
The most widespread EITC abuse stems from the requirement that children live with the worker for more than six months of the year. IRS does little to verify the claim.
Many immigrants falsify govt forms (a felony), claiming non-existent children, or claim children who they’ve left behind with relatives. Those with two or more children and income below $32,121 could get as much as $4,008. It is estimated that illegals got $22 billion EITC refunds.....it probably is much, much more.

NORTH BERGEN, NJ -- July 21, 2006 -- Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, L/E said.
The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses for any state in the US, passports and resident alien cards, said state police.
Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot. Authorities wouldn't identify the NJ hotel by name for fear it would spark retribution from savage drug cartels operating in the US.
The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout.
L/E approached the Texas brothers when they returned to the NJ hotel and questioned them separately. The Texas brothers consented to a search.
Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs.
All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street. Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 fake Social Security cards. ####

Plus illegals don't worry about pricey items like car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance, and qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
The Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) is in a contentious fight with the state of Arizona over its controversial Mexican-American Studies program. A state law went into effect in Arizona on January 1, 2011, banning the teaching of ethnic studies in K-12 schools. It was prompted by an investigation into TUSD’s ethnic studies curriculum by Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne when he was State Superintendent of Schools.
The program is known as “raza studies,” which means race studies, championed by organizations like the far left organization National Council of La Raza. The course does not simply teach Latino youth about their heritage, it goes well beyond that. The textbooks teach Latino youth that they are mistreated by America, training them to become radical anti-American activists. Textbooks include “The Pedagogy of the Oppressed” and “Occupied America.” Another text "gloats over the difficulties our country is having at enforcing its immigration laws." Benjamin Franklin is vilified as a racist. White people are referred to as “gringos” and “oppressors” of Latino people. “Privilege” is described as related to a person’s ethnicity.
At a TUSD school board meeting on May 10, one upset mother read excerpts from the textbook “An Epic Poem,” including, My land is lost and stolen, My culture has been raped….we have to destroy capitalism…overthrow a government that has committed abuses….to the bloodsuckers, the parasites, the vampires who are the capitalists of the world: The schools are tools of the power structure that blind and sentence our youth to a life of confusion, and hypocrisy, one that preaches assimilation and practices institutional racism." --SNIP--

Didn’t you hear? Obama’s ICE is under orders NOT to deport anyone who is either in school, or has anyone they support here...(ie, ALL illegals).
They know the feds won’t touch them...and I wouldn’t doubt that there is a coordinated effort by O’s people to have such protests in the first place...in an effort to intimidate.
