Coulter on Palin: Let’s face it, she’s probably not electable

Interesting segment, not because Coulter’s advancing any new criticisms of Palin but because she’s willing to acknowledge openly the political risk on the right in criticizing her in the first place. According to Coulter, conservatives refuse to challenge Palin publicly because they don’t want to deal with the hate mail from her supporters. That’s part of it, I’m sure — by now, all columnists and bloggers know what awaits after criticizing Palin or, say, Ron Paul — but I suspect the better part is that there’s simply no faster ticket to RINOville among some grassroots conservatives than uttering a discouraging word about Sarah. It’s the ultimate “one of us” litmus test; not even a right-winger as stalwart and confrontational as Coulter is immune, apparently, from the inevitable establishment/RINO/sellout/”Beltway cocktail party” nonsense afterward. That said, I’m curious why she’s speaking up now. Has she reached the point where she just doesn’t care anymore? Or is she so worried about the election that she’s willing to lose some fans in the interest of maximizing the GOP’s advantage?

Exit quotation: “She’s become sort of the Obama of the tea party, she’s just ‘The One’ to a certain segment of right-wingers.” Click the image to watch.

But .. I read today that Palin draws bigger crowds than Romney.

Romney might be an improvement over ZERO - as almost anybody would be, but I’m still supporting Palin.

I am not quite sure what you mean by “leadership,” unless you mean “office.” Certainly she is one of the leaders of the Tea Party movement.

I am sure Sarah is watching the debates and learning what she needs to know about the field of candidates when she does debate them.

Ann and Laura embarrass themselves.

Christie is a disaster on illegal immigration.

And Romney has a substance=heavy economic plan? Here’s what the WSJ has to say about that:

(Rembember, the WSJ praised Palin for rightly being substantive, nuanced and ahead of other GOP pols on the Fed and quantitative easing.)

"Ann sounds like the typical northeast big city snob..

Big bump to that, I think Sarah brings out all the closet elitists in the GOP. Ann bashing Sarah makes no sense unless Ann is just kissing country club GOP butt. And what a big butt it is.

“Perhaps she should have spent more time brushing up her resume instead of going the celebrity reality tv route. A lot of the problem people have with her is the choices she made after she resigned.”

Don’t spend a lot of time thinking about those people. Haters can take care of themselves.

...but because she made an unforced decision to abandoned the Governorship of Alaska.

You sound like a troll but just imagine you owned stock in a corporation and the CEO was being accused by the media and others of corruption. The company was losing millions defending against lawsuits to prove that nothing illegal or improper had taken place. The value of your stock was dropping and the CEO could do nothing to stop the losses except to leave the company in the hands of a very capable assistant while she continued to fight the ongoing lawsuits.

I'm certain you would have complained that the CEO had abandoned the company instead of staying with it while the losses continued to pile up. It was a smart business decision regardless of whether it was a smart political decision. Both Alaska and Palin are in better shape now that the silliness of the left's unfounded attacks on the office of the Governor of Alaska have stopped.

PS Im no troll my friend , far from it . Be careful of how quickly you judge people.

I never said you were. You have me mixed up with someone else. I asked if you were addicted to telling others you aren't addicted, remember?

Christie as more on the ball than Romney. But I doubt that either man would do more as president than continue the polices iniiated by Hush and Obama. The social issues would be pushed aside because such matters do notconcern the people on the East Coast.

I love Ann Coulter's Books, IMHO she is one of the most talented and witty writers we have, Mark Stein is the only one who I think can give her a run for the money when it comes to quips.

Ann's book "Treason" was a masterpiece and I doubt she will ever top that one, and I have read all of her books.

Ann lost me when she attacked Harriet Meyers nomination to the SCOTUS because of the University she attended and not her core beliefs. This what I hate about Liberals and never thought I would see the day when Ann would stoop to that level. Harriet Meyers was a horrible choice for so many more reasons other than where she attended school

You would think that the simple artifice of asking a reasonable question about Sarah, it tantamount to taking the Lord’s name in vain or something of that magnitude.

You probably should check the dictionary before using words like "artifice", vette. Your comment makes absolutely no sense. I realize you're even trying to be "Christian" in your choice of words since you did mention taking the Lord's name in vain, but, really, artifice is not at all applicable in the context in which it was used. Perhaps a slip of the tongue mind?

ar·ti·fice - noun
1. a clever trick or stratagem; a cunning, crafty device or expedient; wile.
2. trickery; guile; craftiness.

“..she made an unforced decision to
abandoned the Governorship of Alaska..”

Unforced by what, the law? Every time I hear a Palin hater use that false argument, I automatically know their true motive.

As governor, Palin’s annual salary was $125,000.00. She had to personally pay out of pocket legal defense costs, no matter how frivolous the accusations. When she was “FORCED” to resign, she had accumulated $500,000.00 legal debts, took out a second mortgage on her home and being “FORCED” into bankruptcy. When she set up a legal defense fund, she was “Forced” to disband it when sued for using the term "Governor Palin."

Now if you still say she made an “UNFORCED” decision to resign, then I am “FORCED” to conclude you are not a serious person. Nuff said.

I watched that speech, one of the best speeches I have heard since Reagan. And you are right Sarah spoke facts and truth, something you don’t here very often from our permanent political class.

Certainly she is one of the leaders of the Tea Party movement.

And if this can carry the day,
it would be a great improvement
I have grown to despise RINOs

I've almost grown to despair of
The US Government being repaired
Palin is such a breath of fresh air

I would replace the Repubs with the Tea Party in a heartbeat

I like Coulter. I find her fascination with Chris Cristie a bit odd,

Yeah and she thought that wimped out Senator Lieberman was so great

Laura and Ann managed to scrape their way into lesser Ivy League schools and for all their mild brand of conservatism (Romney and Christie?) they are scared to death of being associated with flyover country rubes. It’s the same disease that the nanny boys over at National Review have and that afflicts so many Republicans who spend a few years in Washington.

Palin is above and beyond them for not groveling for the good opinion of the liberal establishment.

I'm to the point of voting for anyone who isn't a Washington insider.

I agree. I support Palin in the hopes she will bring new uncorrupted people to the White House and go to work rooting out the corruption in that city no matter which party they belong to.

I don't see that quality in any of the other candidates. They are all just the same old same old.
