Israeli tourist visits to Turkey has dropped to near zero in recent days, according to an executive at one of Israels largest travel agencies. Gilad Brovinsky, Deputy Head of Marketing for Disenhaus Tours, said Tuesday that in recent months the number of Israeli tourists visiting Turkey was much lower than in previous years and most of them were Israeli Arabs. In recent days with the stories that were hearing in the news, it has fallen to zero and we are dealing with mass cancellations of vacations and flights to Turkey.

If you look at Kabul pre-Taliban or Tehran pre-Khomeneni or even Baghdad before the US invasion, these were “moderate” Muslim countries that were not thrust backwards into 7th Century world of fundamental, primative hate cult, coupled with 21st century weaponry.
Syria, Turkey, Egypt are all moving towards the Sha’ria compliant Arab and Persion world.
No wonder no Israelis never visit Turkey anymore it’s not safe.
I can buy an ibrik on Amazon for $25 and make my own turkish coffee without the fear of being thrown in prison for calling Mohammed a pedophile.
geez, I wonder why

Turkey was one of the best of the Moslem majority nations if not the best. Kemal Atatürk tried and almost succeeded in transforming Turkey into a modern, secular, western nation. Too bad they now prefer to live as 7th Century barbarians.
I was in Israel in May 2010 - the most recurring commercials on TV were for vacations in Turkey. Things Have Changed.

Actions have consequences.
Another stunning success for The Religion of Peace.
Ataturk envisioned the Turkish Army as the guarantor of the secular Turkish state. The Army managed to keep the clerics and their corrosive doctrine contained. However, the AKP seems to have blunted or neutered the Turkish Army's influence and replaced its secular leaders with traditional Islamic types.
The only thing that keeps the hostile Arab states that surround Israel at bay is the knowledge the Israelis have nuclear weapons and they will use them if they are facing extermination by followers of the “Religion of Peace.” The worsening situation in the Arab world that has come about in the form of the “Arab Spring” has the makings of a first class, worldwide disaster in the making. Unfortunately, the Euros, Russia, China, and the U.S. are letting this fiasco unfold. Indeed, some are actively promoting it under the delusion that this can be a positive outcome. What idiots!
I’ll have to go look up “ibrik” but my parents visited Turkey often in the late ‘60s when Dad was stationed in Naples. They always remarked afterward how friendly the Turks were compared to the Greeks.
Turkish officers I met on active duty were personable and highly skeptical about radical Islam; their wives joined them in this conversation.
But back to your point about travel to Islamic countries or travel in general: just what do I as an American derive from going somewhere else in the world where travel is a matter of what I have to give up and leave behind pending my return? I’ve been lots of places and I wonder what’s to be had besides the local cuisine. If it can be replicated at home, why travel just to get patted down and searched for dope & weapons?
Of course, my wife thinks I’m ol’ fuddy-duddy and wants us to travel. My loving reply: let’s see America first, dear.
