GOP senator says Obama joint address won't leave much to respond to (GOP won't waste their time)

There (sic) decision not to feature a singular response to President Obama's speech on job creation on Thursday shows that Republicans don't expect there to be much to respond to, Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said Wednesday.

"I suspect what it means is that the Speaker does not expect to hear much to respond to," Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said on Fox News. "So far there's no indication that anything extraordinary is going to happen in what should be an extraordinary moment —calling a joint session of Congress to make new economic proposals after you've already been president for two and a half years."

On Tuesday, House Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) office announced that there would be no singular Republican response to Obama's speech in front of a joint session of Congress on Thursday in which Obama plans to unveil new plans for job creation.

"Every Member of Congress, and – more importantly - the American people, will provide a reaction to the president’s address," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said Tuesday in a statement.

In response, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called the GOP's decision not to offer a formal response "disrespectful."

"I think we'll see if the speech deserves a response. My guess is that the Speaker's right," Blunt continued. "There'll be plenty of time on Friday to respond. Let's see what the president says on Thursday night and then believe me, there'll be plenty of time to respond."

How do you respond a speech full of falsehoods and out-right, bold lies; without looking like you are racist.

This is a smart move, one I can scarcely credit the RNC with thinking of all on their own. Best to let the liar prove himself a fool, instead of confronting the liar and be attacked as racists.

GOP wisely doesn’t want to be blamed for pre-empting part of the NFL opener.

Since very few Americans have any respect for Obama......

It's a mistake, they need to respond. Their response should consist of "Where are we going to get the money to do that Mr. President? The American people are tapped out, the treasury is broke, we owe our childrens future to China and other countries who hold our debt. We are not going destroy the American people in order to give your another chance to fail."

That's all they need to say.

Obama will give a teleprompter speech proposing more of the same garbage he has been pushing since getting into office.

He will want a new "stimulus" of $300 billion. The only things his plans stimulate is a deeper recession headed for a depression.

...and folks, that's the intent. He has no desire to fix America. He wants to fundamentally alter it (just as he has said on numerous occassions) by destroying the free market economy. And hes well on the way to doing so.

So, how many times is Mr. Obama going to say, “Let me be clear,” during his BIG speech?

Right after he says that, everything becomes as clear as mud. He speaks in these sweeping generalities. He never talks on the dot about what he is proposing.

No response to this speech is necessary. It will be the oral equivalent of a blivet. Ya’ll know what that is, right?

John Boehner hasn't been much of a leader on offense, but he has proven to be a very good counter puncher. He is a master of the trap, forcing Obama to take stands, such as tax increases during the debt talks, that are impossible to defend. Far more Sun Tsu than Clausewitz. He wins the battles that are not fought.

Great strategy. A GOP response would only dignify His Lowness.

Obama and his handlers are very political manipulating, His speech will probably end just before the football game kickoff.

A GOP response would be during kick off. Now Pelosi is mad because they are not taking the bait.
