There (sic) decision not to feature a singular response to President Obama's speech on job creation on Thursday shows that Republicans don't expect there to be much to respond to, Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said Wednesday.
"I suspect what it means is that the Speaker does not expect to hear much to respond to," Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said on Fox News. "So far there's no indication that anything extraordinary is going to happen in what should be an extraordinary moment calling a joint session of Congress to make new economic proposals after you've already been president for two and a half years."
On Tuesday, House Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) office announced that there would be no singular Republican response to Obama's speech in front of a joint session of Congress on Thursday in which Obama plans to unveil new plans for job creation.
"Every Member of Congress, and more importantly - the American people, will provide a reaction to the presidents address," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said Tuesday in a statement.
In response, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called the GOP's decision not to offer a formal response "disrespectful."
"I think we'll see if the speech deserves a response. My guess is that the Speaker's right," Blunt continued. "There'll be plenty of time on Friday to respond. Let's see what the president says on Thursday night and then believe me, there'll be plenty of time to respond."
I put up a vanity the other day saying they should do a “pre-sponse.”
Something like, “Here’s the jobs legislation that WE already have actually been working on. More stimulus is not the answer. When the president puts his plan on paper and gives it to us, we can discuss and debate the plan. We really hope you enjoy the football game.”
DING DING DING DING we have a winner of a chicken dinner
Excellent idea. It’s not like the idiot hasn’t leaked out his propaganda ahead.
START by warning American’s what the Democrats/OBAMA’s new code word for stimulus and taxes and $pending are.And that extending unemployment and payroll tax is nothing new.
State very bluntly that if Obama would stop campaigning (SPENDING TAXPAYER MONEY) and vacationing and inciting union mobs we would not be in this mess.
Ladies and gentlemen of America I find it also very troubling as to why the President has not uttered a word about the horrific racial attacks of black people pulling white people out of their cars in WI and beating them.We must speak up and address this issue if he won’t before this HATE SPEECH and violence spreads.
Attacking the tea party is not saving this country the President. The Truth is; DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT HE IS DOING so he plays the BLAME GAME yet again.
I also find it very troubling that the fast and furious investigations are not looking good for this country. Obama’s or AG Holder seem to be keeping a cone of silence. They’re actions are frightening.”I don’t know” will not bring this matter into the sunshine.I demand the the President address this issue under oath if needed to.Stonewalling when people have died is extremely troublesome.God Bless America and goodnight.Go Saints!
THEN SCREAM FUBO lol no don’t but I wish they would!
The R’s should come on and say three words:
“Yada Yada Yada”.
Then leave.
It’s a speech. That is all it will ever be. Don’t respond until it is in writing. (it will never happen)
About twice as much as he says, "There are those who say...."
They want to go watch the game, not waste time arguing with junior.
Very Stupid decision. It is so hard for the Republicans to get on TV and be heard. Now they have a chance and they blow it off. One thing you can say about the GOP. They don’t believe in educating anyone. Of course most of them are Rhino’s anyways. Some of them probably helped O right his speech.
ObamaMao gets rebuked when what he really wanted was to refute a rebut.
Next year we give him the boot.
blah blah blah, you’re a liar. go saints but I like my scenerio GOP pre speech I just posted. If Obama would be a republican he would be impeached by now!
Why can’t the GOP cut the political correctness crap and tell Dana Pelino and Rove to stfu good ethics, diplomacy and class DO NOT APPLY TO OBAMA!
And address Obama:
-race riots in WI no response from POTUS
-union mob threats towards America with Obama in da house when it went down (we are not stupid!)
-fast and furious
-he is a liar.
-same old ideas rehashed with a different set of dem code words for tax and the only thing this President knows how to do $pend, vacay, golf, incite racial/class wars
-joe the plumber warned us
-as top economists/CEO’s have said WANT JOBS? get Obama out.
-we may yell you’re a liar and really mean it this time
-FUBO and the teleprompter that came with you
-Go Saints.
Responding to this speech will be as easy as saying, “Good speech. Not interested.”
IMO, this is a brilliant move.
Better yet, "My fellow Americans: Are you ready for some Football?"
This is a great move on the part of the leadership. Circumvents the Dems complaining that the Reps won’t work with them. Had to laugh that Pelosi called it disrespectful.
Yep, we could take care of a Pre-Sponce in minutes. No big long droning, just How are we going to pay for it, get out of the way of the American people, they know best how to bring the economy back and create jobs.
I love that idea. :)
With a pooper-scooper?
Republican Response ... all the Repub candidates being back up by Hank Jr singing ... ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALLLLLL
