You know how dumb that sounds?? I pay most of my bills online..I guess I could live without them.. but mail delivery is a normal function in a 1st world country
Now remember children. It’s the Republicans fault that Santa didn’t get you letter.
Oh.....they have 653,000 employees.....I’ve been saying 570,000.....I must’ve forgot Guam.
¨Wire Congress. Wire Congress. Wire Congress....¨
I didn’t realize that taxpayers don’t pay a dime for the postal service. I always thought we did. Why are we so hard on this private company. I seriously thought they were part of government. Now I don’t care as much what they pay their people and what their hours are. That is like us getting involved with Amazon and there business.
Third, how are people supposed to get their checks and bills?
How will I get my Wednesday coupons?
Damn! Does this mean I won’t get my Pottery Barn Christmas catalog?
Congress need only to allow the postal service to move to five day delivery. Ask yourself why they refuse this simple fix?
Hoffa and UPS Teamsters!
“The USPS is created as a government agency under Title 39, Section 101.1 of the United States Code which states, in part:
(a) The United States Postal Service shall be operated as a basic and fundamental service provided to the people by the Government of the United States, authorized by the Constitution, created by Act of Congress, and supported by the people. The Postal Service shall have as its basic function the obligation to provide postal services to bind the Nation together through the personal, educational, literary, and business correspondence of the people. It shall provide prompt, reliable, and efficient services to patrons in all areas and shall render postal services to all communities. The costs of establishing and maintaining the Postal Service shall not be apportioned to impair the overall value of such service to the people.
Under paragraph (d) of Title 39, Section 101.1, “Postal rates shall be established to apportion the costs of all postal operations to all users of the mail on a fair and equitable basis.”
The USPS does get some taxpayer support. Around $96 million is budgeted annually by Congress for the “Postal Service Fund.” These funds are used to compensate USPS for postage-free mailing for all legally blind persons and for mail-in election ballots sent from US citizens living overseas. A portion of the funds also pays USPS for providing address information to state and local child support enforcement agencies”

Postal tax...coming to a post offfice near you.
Shut down for the winter? That’s absurd, it’s just their way of begging for a bailout, this entity needs to be privatized, you can bet if taken over by the private sector all the dead weight would be launched and this would run as a fine tuned instrument.
So all those Christmas cards and holiday presents that usually get shipping around then ... ?
Isn’t delivery of mail one of the feds constitutional duty. More so than the hundreds of other things the fed gets involved in...
This guy is dumb and stupid.
When you have pensions promised that are unsustainable...the end is known. You can't have people retiring at 50 yrs old...promised 80% of their pay for the rest of their lives.
There are facilities called “Rubber Rooms” where employees who have nothing to do (and can’t be laid off or let go) go to spend the day - reading, web surfing, sleeping. Just waiting for retirement. (Source: John&Ken, KFI - LA radio)
