When President Obama delivers his address on a new job-creation plan to a joint session of Congress on Thursday, he won't be speaking to a sold-out crowd. Several lawmakers are still determining whether it is worth their time to stay in Washington to hear the president, and some are already planning to skip it.
Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter is the latest to announce that he will not be there, choosing to attend a party to watch the New Orleans Saints' opening football game instead.
"As a fanatic, I have my priorities," Vitter told Fox News on Wednesday.

Historically, Louisianans have a demonstrable preference for reelecting their incumbents, especially senators...
This is what I think:
- POTUS Obama is anti-America
- POTUS Obama is a hard line African Muslim
- POTUS Obama has turned the entire Middle East & North Africa into Muslim Brotherhood Nations
- POTUS Obama has set Iraq up for takeover by Iran
- POTUS Obama remains the “Godfather of Gaddafi” with Wright & Farrakhan
- POTUS Obama is the third of the anti-Christs (Napoleon & Hitler)
- POTUS Obama is anti-Black American Christian (Murder in Africa - Christians)
- POTUS Obama wishes to destroy the USA jobs & economy
- POTUS is destroying the USA military
And......those are just openers!!!
I personally think that fear is overblown. Some people have said that Obama’s going to make a commercial with this. If he does, it will reflect poorly on him and will allow others to say, “He demanded his time in a joint session ... and then he used it to make a commercial. That proves it was all about campaigning.”
I think it’s legitimate to point out that Obama may be abusing the joint session tradition ... but even that’s questionable, because people will say, “This is a jobs emergency!”
A lot of Republicans are going to show up there tonight because it’s a joint session that was agreed to.
