More Republicans skipping Obama’s jobs speech
YahooNews ^ | Sept. 7, 2011 | Chris Moody

When President Obama delivers his address on a new job-creation plan to a joint session of Congress on Thursday, he won't be speaking to a sold-out crowd. Several lawmakers are still determining whether it is worth their time to stay in Washington to hear the president, and some are already planning to skip it.

Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter is the latest to announce that he will not be there, choosing to attend a party to watch the New Orleans Saints' opening football game instead.

"As a fanatic, I have my priorities," Vitter told Fox News on Wednesday.

Listen to one listen to them all. I haven’t listened to any of his lies since his inception and this one won’t be an exception.

I'm fine, of course, with skipping the speech, but state that it's because Obama's a dipshit and you've heard all his calls for yet more deficit spending programs that only enrich his cronies and do nothing to create real jobs. Or something along those lines.

Don't say you have to go to a football party.

If they really wanted to make waves with this article, they simple could have given an estimate of how many average American citizens will skip this speech beside the politicians listed (based on averages for viewership for his previous speeches). THAT number would be ENORMOUS.

I’m sure many will disagree with me, but these folks are overdoing it.

Obama got slapped down and rescheduled...there will be no GOP response. I’m sure it tickles some people that these guys are thumbing their noses, but I think that not attending is petty.

There are certain things that you do. You attend a joint session of Congress where the president is going to speak. You do so ESPECIALLY after he there was a flap over the original dictated date and he stepped back and agreed to another date. Yes ... I know, Obama was a jerk to try to speak tonight.

I feel, however, that there are certain precedents we don’t need to be setting. These guys are giving ammo to the other side. While I have no respect for Obama ... I have a respect for the presidency of the USA and I think they should attend. They don’t need to clap. They can even scowl. I’m not expecting much from the speech ... but saying you are not going to attend a joint session because you want to watch some football, or you are just not interested ... IMO .... it’s petty.

Just words. Just speeches.

Very timely Obama quotation.

“As a fanatic, I have my priorities,”

I think he's giging Obama about the fact he call tea partiers and some Republicians including Vitter fanatics.

Hope the MSM askes about it.

The Republicans should hold a tailgate party outside during Bamster’s speech. Free steak and lobster for attendees.

Let incivility and disrespect be the marker of the ungodly rebels, not of those who claim to aspire to respect and honor.

That one person who said Obama should put his ideas into writing had a really good idea, because that way you don’t have to go through all the hype stuff. I wish the whole Republican Congress would skip it and some of the Democrats too who have finally figured out they should have picked Hillary Clinton instead of President Stupid.

The Lord does work in wondrous ways.

Who would have thought that a man who lived by his words would die by his words ? How the mighty have fallen - all the way from his own exalted position next to the Almighty Himself amid Greek columns and hosts of hosannas singing

MMMMM MMMMMM MMMMMM Obama !

Frank Baum was more prescient than George Orwell. This is not 1984 but the Land of Oz - being led by a man of straw, brainless and without a heart pulling strings and spouting speeches with no effect.

When a man needs 2 teleprompters to make a 3 minute speech in front of the White House, he has become a trivial mockery of himself.

I can’t wait for the autopsy of this discredited figure once he is removed from office when his worthless carcass is finally disemboweled by the ones he has failed - the fascist liberal media and paranoia of the progressives.

I won't waste my time listening to it Thursday.
I'll catch El Rushbo on Friday. He dissect the speech lie by lie.

Just like speaking at a Union gathering, Barry insists on having paid audiences for his campaign pep rallies. The House and Senate are highly paid, captive audience members for his campaign speech. Will the CBO score the script that Axelrod loaded into the TOTUS?
