Note: this is the U.K. that is doing this.

Oh, well...nevermind. The NHS will kill them long before the symptoms of AIDS even kick in.

I’m certain this will be a great comfort to those lucky patients that get HIV from their transfusions. “I feel so much better about getting AIDS since the donor was celibate for a year before he gave blood. The fact he was infected five years ago is just one of those things.”

I'd like to inject this piece of excrement with a syringe of HIV blood.

he probably gets his daily injection with a flesh syringe...time will cause the worst to happen with that POS...if it hasn't happened already.

Thanks for the tip I’m going to the Red Cross and have them store my Blood just in Case I need it. Now that would be an easy way of building up blood reserves.

Once they collect blood, they sell it to different organizations and countries. It also goes into medicine.

If one stayed in Europe, person can’t donate blood in US for 2 years. This happened Mad Cow disease. Last I know this US policy is still valid.

Don’t even presume, this will effect UK. This will effect everyone.

That aids is detectable in blood is largely a myth. When a person is tested for aids the questions they answer before they take the test are most of the input on the diagnosis, this is true.

Bank your own blood, otherwise it’s always a crapshoot

Doesn't work that way from what I've heard. you don't get your own blood back, you just get credit for blood - anyone's blood, when you "bank" yours.

Unless you want to go Kramer and keep it in Tupperware containers in your own freezer.

You'll be tag as a "homophobe" for doing so, and laws will be passed against you.

I wonder how much the first wrongful death lawsuit will be worth, once a transfusion recipient gets AIDS tainted blood from a previously banned dodnor?

BAD,BAD,BAD...
A very good friend of mine who suffered from hemophelia was murdered in the early 90’s by political correctness and AIDS-tainted blood.

You cannot get ANYONE in the media to talk about the Great Hemopheliac Genocide caused by AIDS in the blood supply, that killed OVER 200,000 Americans.

It’s not politically correct.

A gay man going a year without the only thing he lives for. Good luck with that.

You make a good point, how would one go about doing that?

Ofcourse the gays will lie and say they never had sex in a year probably after they screwed 5 guys the night before.

I have heard horror stories of folks getting diseases in the US including AIDS through blood transfusions. I for one would like to have my own blood on hand and not chance getting AIDS, Hepatitis or any other disease for that matter.

No one will be allowed to bring lawsuits against violators, thanks to PC. If fact, litigants will probably be arrested for "homophobia."

I am dead serious.

Northeast or north central Pennsylvania?

Inch o’ water in our basement last night, power loss so no sump pump, but our house is 400-800 feet higher that the big creeks and the Susquehanna.

And I was in a this same online argument w/ a New York homo, a singer, he claimed, in that famous(?) NYC Gay Men’s Chorus. He wanted to be allowed to donate blood, and I wanted to be protected from his early-infection-often-undetectable AIDS-polluted blood. Most involved sided with me, preferring to err on the side of safety.

Not sure. There is at least one post above saying you cannot do that. However, I believe if you are facing a surgery that is non urgent, you can work with the hospital to donate your own blood into their blood bank and it will be held for your operation. I guess the trick is to bank enough to cover any contingency and afterward release any leftovers into the system.

Best bet, ask your doctor.
