My brother has always wondered (I too have wondered to a lesser extent) why Lee wore a Confederate Colonel’s uniform? Why? Any history buff out there know the answer?

Hmmm. That may need to be authenticated.
A decent number of ferrotype photographs were taken of Lee, but not that many.

A lady friend of mine is a direct Lee descendant. She has the same eyes and nose.
