LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — Hundreds of Longshore workers stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.
Six guards were detained for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.
No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested. Most of the protesters returned to their union hall after cutting brake lines and spilling grain from car at the EGT terminal, Duscha said.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union believes it has the right to work at the facility, but the company has hired a contractor that's staffing a workforce of other union laborers

And it’s too predictable that there will be no charges of consequence, on the theory that they’re allowed to because they are union members.

When two unions squabble, that means they have less time to beat up on the TEA Party (or the strawman they think is the TEA Party). So this is bad in one way (and it is to be hoped the crimes will not be swept under the rug) but maybe good in another.
This is what gets me - The port is being staffed with union workers, just not THIS union's workers. How can someone not see this is about money for the union, pure and simple?
This could really get fun to watch if the contractors union thugs decide to have a war with the other unions thugs, I mean who the hell would you be cheering for then??

That's a good observation. He really does see us all down there, snarling and snapping over a carcass, while at the same time attacking each other to see who is the top dog and who gets to eat first. A truly horrible view of life.

Think how this would be covered if the Tea Party had kidnapped six guards - held them against their will and destroyed property. The MSM would be using terms like 'dangerous - crazy - lone wolfs - etc. But since unions members are in a protected liberal 'victim group' they'll get a pass.
