LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) Hundreds of Longshore workers stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.
Six guards were detained for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.
No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested. Most of the protesters returned to their union hall after cutting brake lines and spilling grain from car at the EGT terminal, Duscha said.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union believes it has the right to work at the facility, but the company has hired a contractor that's staffing a workforce of other union laborers

Ohhh, but they are creating new Republicans every day.
In WA? Sure, its shall issue. But whaddiya gonna do?
If you hurt one, they will become automatic martyrs and
folk singers will memorialize them for evermore. Assuming
you got one, 499 more will tenderize you to ddeath with those beisbol bats.
Maybe you could fling doo at them. But thats about it.
In a real world with real leadership everyone of them would be shot on site. All head shots at that...
The acts described fall under multiple federal felonies including those covered by the Patriot Act: Under current United States law, set forth in the USA PATRIOT Act, acts of domestic terrorism are those which: “(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.” http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=107_cong_public_laws&docid=f:publ056.107.pdf The holding of the guards is kidnapping even though they didn’t move them from the site. Besides domestic terrorism there is kidnapping, assault and battery, felony vandalism, criminal trespass and probably a whole lot more. It also probably falls under the criminal RICO statutes because of the kidnapping. Since they are part of the Obama shock troops, loyal Democrats don’t expect justice to do anything. Now, if they were Tea Party members or another conservative group Justice would come down on them like a ton of bricks.
Don’t expect much coverage of the event from the media especially the print media. Most of the reporters and editors are part of the news paper guilds which are part of the Communication Workers of America. Like the International Longshore and Warehouse Union the Communication Workers of America are part of the AFL-CIO, major supporters of Obama and the Democratic Party. I wouldn’t be surprised to find the same applies to the reporters, editors and producers of the on-the-air media as well.
Richard Trumka the head of the AFL-CIO just issued a threat against the Tea Parties. He’d have us believe when he’s getting a little heat that he didn’t mean real violence, but this kind of behavior toward someone they consider an enemy by one of the members of the AFL-CIO can’t be discounted. The threat has to be treated as real.
Union THUGS...coming to a workplace of YOURS!!! And the LEADER, TRUMKA, was in MOOCHELLE”S BOX tonite!!!
“And its too predictable that there will be no charges of consequence, on the theory that theyre allowed to because they are union members.”
Fear will prevent serious charges. If anyone tried to bring serious charges against them, the union thugs/goons would target them and their families.
Lib blogs are supporting the hostage taking.
Send in the national guard and shoot on sight. Communists are on the march in our homeland, and the President is one of them.
Just Obama’s army takin the sonzabitches out...
Hard to feel sorry for any of the parties you named.
It’s time for decent people to choose whether they want to be governed by laws, or governed by mobs.
This is amazing. If we had a decent press in this country, there'd be massive coverage of this.
It's affecting not only the immediate situation of these towns in the NW, but places where the shipment came from and, of course, our foreign trade.
>>...500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m
THAT is pretty well organized to have 500 show up en-mass at that hour of the morning!
Legal discovery could show they used emails and twitter to organize in violation of the restraining order.
Multi-million dollar fines should be used to stop the union from doing this again.
Typical union thuggery.
My dream is that one day we will see the books on just how much corruption and money laundering the union goons engage in now, and throughout the years. And how the democratic party has benefitted directly by illegal activities.
Do a Google. I think the story, pics and videos are still available although I wouldn't doubt they've been scrubbed along with court records.
