the democratic party is really a support group for the delusional.

Brilliant.

Can you make a haiku out of that?

I’ll have to say, I’m completely stunned by this article by Dana Milbank, normally pretty much a leftist Obama cheerleader. The article is remarkably well written and evidences a very sharp eye for the small details of reactions by individual Congresspersons and offers very insightful analysis of the implications of those reactions.

This article is absolutely damning in the picture it paints of the utter contempt that Congress has for this incompetent poseur of a President. I’m stunned to see someone like Milbank writing something like this and stunned to see a MSM outlet like the Washington Post publish something like this.

This IS the magical jump the shark moment. For those old enough to remember, this is Obama’s equivalent of Jimmah’s malaise speech.

From your keyboard to God's ears. This is the moment I've been waiting for, the tipping point I didn't really expect to see. It could get fun!

It sounded DICTATORIAL is what it sounded.

I had heard something from a source at the White House earlier in the day... she was saying that the Republicans would have no excuse to delay and that they needed to pass Obama’s legislation as soon as they got it.

And I thought, “That’s not how it works, lady....”

And then I heard the speech ... and it was OBAMA’S tactic. A president saying you must pass my plan right away. We really don’t cotton to kings, here.

“”There’s little indication he can sell it if he’s resorting to amateur hours street huckster tactics on 535 of the best BS artists in the country. He’s out of his league, out of gas, out of ideas, and out of luck.””

And the Democrat and RINO hucksters among those 535 BS artists realize that if they support Obama’s ruthless spending, they too will be booted out of office in 2012.

I was not sure about Dana Milbank’s pedigree, but suspected he was liberal.

Hot air doesn’t allow hot linking.

Good to know. I copied it to photobucket so we could have it on this thread. I sure wish there were pictures of our GOPpers giggling and laughing too.

I didn’t see it. Is this all true? The “chuckles” etc?

I forced myself to sit through most of the speech and never saw anyone laughing, guffawing or openly chuckling.

I'm sure it was going on but it never made it to the TV camera or I blinked when it was shown.

The Congress and Senate do not allow open media coverage of these events and you can bet that the operators of the pool cameras have strict orders to avoid televising anything that isn't flattering.

Very few things p!iss a narcissist off more than laughing at them when they’re raging and/or trying to assert their non-existent authority. As long as one’s certain that the narcissist won’t become increasingly violent, it can be quite fun. While laughing is my preference, yawning can also be amusing.

It was not even full of sound and fury.

Obama sounded like a guy that had to reiterate a tired mantra to his teenage daughter.

He has been so surrounded by yes-people, i don't think he has any idea of how wooden and robotic he sounded.

I think the repeated “Pass this Bill” mantra was supposed to conjure up some great MLK speech, Mitch Albom column, or Reagan call for the wall to be torn down.

Instead, it just sounded poorly cadenced, poorly delivered and embarrassingly robotic mixed in with exasperation.

It was like Obama was just so gosh darn tired of trying to explain the sky is green, for crying out loud.

No. There’s nothing. That’s part of what’s so funny.

And IF he’s got “legislation” ... then you know they’ve been working on it for ... how long?

You need authority to lead effectively.

Obama thinks you can lead via title or power. He’s never invested in building authority. He doesn’t get it, never will, nor does the Washington media.

This lack of authority was on full display last night. Apparently Milbank is just noticing this huge leadership deficit.
