I’ve been trying to avoid the 10th anniversary, so I haven’t been paying too much attention. Not because I’ve forgotten, but because I knew it was going to get me choked up.
This one got me choked up.

I have the same prayer for George W. Bush. God bless and keep him.
I cannot even imagine our current occupant of the White House giving a speech like that. And did you notice he was not using the teleprompters that were there? He spoke from his notes on the podium.

You will notice that President Bush never mentioned himself once in that speech. It's been too long since we have had a true statesman as POTUS, 3 years too long.
On the bright side, we were damn blessed to have Dubya' to get us through 9/11.

I thought I saw a snippet of Clintoon blubbering and acting demented with a follow up report of how he, Clinton, made a surprise announcement that HE was leading a drive to raise the final $10 million for the Flight 93 memorial.
What a narcissist. Why on earth do the Bushes feel obliged to include him in their circle (?)- like a bad penny he is.

Clinton started out his speech with references to himself and Hillary.
But I'm willing to forgive that because Clinton at the end of his speech did commit to raising the funds needed to complete the Flight 93 memorial.
And Biden actually was very gracious towards Bush's 9-11 response.
I'm sure that had heads imploding over at DU.

we had a live thread on this earlier- it was a tremendous speech from GWB, from the heart, not the garbage off the teleprompter the POS in the White House gives us...i was taken by GWB’s quote of, “at a time when democracy was being attacked the passengers went to the back of the plane and had a vote”...
