Two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to escort a flight from Los Angeles to John F. Kennedy Airport Sunday afternoon after three passengers refused to come out of a bathroom.
The flight landed safely after 4 p.m.
The Transportation Security Administration said in a statement that it was "notified of passengers allegedly behaving suspiciously" onboard the flight at about 3 p.m., and that the jets were scrambled "out of an abundance of caution."
"Law enforcement met the flight and will interview passengers," the TSA said.
The passengers on American Airlines Flight 34 went into a bathroom and were "not compliant," a security official told NBC New York.

"...was on an Air India flight."
That is a circumstance to be avoided at all cost.
Fake pilot certificates in India, especially at Air India, are more numerous than Illegals with fake DL's here.

That’s why I am wondering why they couldn’t get the door open. When I was a F/A (80s and 90s), we were able to open the bathroom door from the outside and did so when we had to—children especially would lock themselves in and not figure out how to unlock the door. Were the occupants of the bathroom holding the lever so the F/As couldn’t move the latch? Or have the airlines become so PC that they are only allowed to knock politely and ask, “pretty please”?

The pilot should have descended to 10,000 feet, opened the door and kicked ‘em out.

I prayed the entire time, particularly when we went into a death spiral over New York...Don't leave me in suspense.
Did you survive the ordeal?

Guinness Draught tastes like bearly-sweetened chocolate soda to me. With an amazing creamy head. I find it sweeter than any blonde beer I ever tried. And even more astounding- last time I checked, it was the lowest calorie non-light beer on the market. By far, my favorite.
Maybe you only tried the Guinness Stout. That one definitely has an above average bite and is one of my least favorite.

How do 3 people fit into one of these restrooms? There are so tiny.

In our eyes, its a big nothing, American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said. What an asinine response from AA.

On the rare occasions I fly, I try not to use the bathroom. I guess I had to when I went to Europe, but I suppressed the memory.I hate the idea of using an airliner lavatory too, but with Crohns Disease, sometimes I had no choice. Once on a flight to Las Vegas, as the pilot announced the approach to Las Vegas, I had to get to the lavatory. I was actually in there as we were landing, and the flight attendants were quite upset with me. Today, I'd probably be arrested and charged with terrorist acts.

I did read I believe somewhere on FR that Lyolds of London is looking at suing Saudi Arabia for the terrorists attacks of 9/11.
